Small park featuring statue, mosaic, water, but most importantly, rust colored metal quotes from Chinese immigrant families. Well worth a look during daylight hours, but a few sketchy characters there at dusk...

I have a hard time believing anyone would not appreciate this park. What a nice tribute. Each element has meaning and beauty. This was thought through and well executed. Thank you to all those who made this park possible. A real gem that should not...More

Learning about the anti-Chinese fervor that swept the northwest during the 1880-1940s was an eye-opener as this is not something addressed during any of my history classes growing up. The statues, plantings and stories shared make this a good stop for anyone.

Whether it is hot or not, I, as an adult would not subject myself to the Garden of Surging Waves. This is great for kids, esp. in hot weather. This feature does not "run" year round. Only in summer and warm weather situations.

It's not good to seek out this spot with any preconceived notions. It's really just a tiny respite in a landlocked neighbor hood. If you have the time to sit in the cool of the day, it's a lovely little meditation site to relax.

Happened to stop by during a lull in the rain. It is a great place for a stroll after a meal. Hope you get to see it.

Small corner area across from Astoria city hall dedicated to the Astoria contribution of the Chinese immigrants. A bit difficult to understand many of the nuances I think if you are not completely familiar with the Chinese culture but worthwhile just to think of the...More
