I returned to Ft. Stevens after a long absence. It is a wonderful as I remembered. Take a tour of the WWII batteries and gun emplacements, walk through the reconstructed Civil War earthworks fort, walk the beach and see the mouth of the Columbia River,...More

Grab the brochure and do the walk, get a docent tour or sign up for the fun 5 ton truck tour. Either way, your family will learn about history, US war history, innovation in the past and enjoy a great walk.

Sometimes we see pictures of places before we travel and they end up being completely different than expected. We thought that based on the pictures, this couldn't possibly be as inviting in person as it looked in online photos. We were sure that we would...More

We stop here after being recommended by a former volunteer. Having served in the army I was more interested in the military history than my wife but she also found it interesting. Learned about the only attack on US main land in WWII.

A pretty big place, you can walk all over the grounds. A lot of old buildings, up to WW2. No real Forts to speak of.

Historic Ft Sevens is one of the coastal forts in NW OR/SW WA. Recommend visiting each (Fts. Canby and Columbia within a 30-45 minute drive of Astoria). The fortifications date to the late 1860s, and were active through WW-2. The Japanese actually fired on Ft....More

We have camped here many times in the past and truly recommend the park for camping but today's trip was just a brief visit. Lovely clean park, if you have the right kind of car/truck/SUV you can drive on the beach.

I had the same experience as Cherita. Near the entrance, I had no problem. The further into the park, the less wifi I had.

I know this is probably too late, but yes all of the cabins have fire pits.
