Even though there is construction going on, the traffic flows rather nicely. The view from high up on the bridge is fantastic. At low tide, many birds, including bald eagles are sparing along the bridge, or feed on the sand banks. Just beautiful.

October 17, 2016. This was the second time crossing this bridge...or last was in 1999. When we crossed the bridge this nearly closed out our family move to Washington from California! Always some great views! I must do and why not cross over and turn around and come back!

You can start of finish the exploration of all "363 Extraordinary Miles" of the Oregon Coast. It's the People's Coast because an early Governor had the foresight to protect it in public ownership. Start in Washington and a short way over this 4.2 mile wonder you cross into Oregon. You loop down into Astoria, the oldest American community west of... More

My husband and I are from Australia and we were so impressed with this feat of engineering. We went over it twice. I loved the town of Astoria as well.

We've had a full view of the bridge from our hotel room and could appreciate this engineering marvel in its full splendor. One day we might drive on it too, though the kid is still too worried about its hights :).

We drove over to Washington and back again after visiting Fort Columbia. There is a nice view of the water and surrounding area. You haven't missed much if you don't go over, but worth a look. We didn't have any strong winds, but it seems best to avoid if there are. One must obviously stay in the car the whole... More

This bridge connects Washington and Oregon state and spans the Columbia River. High enough for container ships to pass under. Great way to get from one states coast line to the other.
