The original Fort Caroline no longer exists but a replica sits near the original site. Rich in history, the Fort Caroline museum tells a wonderful story about the early days of Florida. Several nature trails are nearby.

Not too much to see here, but it is pleasant way to spend a half hour with nature. They have a "replica" of the fort, though oddly enough, a disclaimer states that they the location is approximate and no one knows exactly where it actually was.

Had no idea all of this was part of our history. I am a retired teacher and I really enjoyed seeing the perspective of the area and its history. Very quiet and peaceful to visit.

What a hidden jewel in the middle of a Jacksonville neighborhood. Fort Caroline is small in comparison to many forts along the east coast but its importance was and is very strong. Come visit and enjoy the history, the walks and the views of the St. Johns River on a high bluff. Breath taking!!

Great place for a nice stroll through the woods and a little piece of history added in. Recreated French colony, beautiful spot on the water. From the area can watch ships coming into port.

The park was still cleaning up from Hurricane Matthew that ripped through the area. The Visitor Center was still closed but the hiking trail to the fort was open, but unfortunately the mosquitoes drove us out earlier than we had intended. Even though the Visitor Center was closed, the staff was thoughtful enough to set up a table with the National... More

My young kids love to play and run and have picnics here. Beautiful live oak canopy, river views and the fort is nice as well. Nice trail just long enough for the kids to let out energy but they are able to complete without being carried out. The museum is small but very nice for a quick tour. Recommend cooler... More

We went to Ft. Caroline because I was looking for places with easy walking trails that my husband and I could both enjoy. He's got limited mobility due to service injuries. When we visited the museum and fort, we were really surprised to learn more about the history of Jacksonville. Check it out. The trails are nice and easy to... More

Like always stopped into the visitor center looked around and talked to the Ranger! I must say doesn't matter what National Park you go to the Rangers are genuinely the nicest most knowledgeable and eager person to talk to you about anything at the park! It's just amazing!
