May not be the real location of Ft. Caroline but in the rough area where the French built a fort. Spanish raided them too.

Friendly staff and nice self directed walk of a replica Fort Caroline and Timucuan from the 1500s. Informative displays. No cost, so this is a great stop if you are traveling and want a quick stop to stretch your legs.

There is a small museum that gives some history of the French involvement in Florida. A trail leads along the river to the "fort area'. It is a half mile walk to the fort along the river. Be sure to bring bug spray. A nice...More

The park is rather small, but it's a great way to learn a bit more about the French occupancy in mid-1500s Jacksonville. The ladies working there were very sweet and knowledgeable. My two young sons enjoyed the replica of the fort and the Timucuan structures....More

Very small yet informative Visitor Center. The fort is actually reconstructed. There was also a short walk through the woods.

A very interesting national monument with history to learn, a recreated fort to explore, walking paths through the woods and it is right no the Saint Johns River, where you can watch dolphins and ships.

Worth visiting. The site markers tell an interesting story, and it's remarkable. We didn't walk any of the trails except for the direction one to the rebuilt fort. If you go, take bug spray in the later spring, summer and early fall.

I thoroughly enjoyed this place, because on weekends volunteers come out to display the talents of colonial people with spinning wheels, candle making, and blacksmithing.
