This museum is filled with an excellent collection of articles from the southern confederacy. However what makes this museum outstanding are the volunteers that will explain each of the artifacts and history. We spent 3 hours with our volunteer guide "Charlie" and were fascinated with his descriptions of the artifacts and stories of the civil war from the southern point... More

This is a museum that is staffed by knowledgeable volunteers of the American Civil War. The museum is a mishmash of donations from the period. There is a library full of books on the subject.

Small private museum with very congenial guides and interesting artifacts. Interesting to learn (among other things) that the Civil War wasn't about slavery at all! Excellent experience was a bit marred by close-minded bias about all things southern.

We went at 11:00 am on a Saturday but they weren't open. I guess we should call ahead because it is staffed by volunteers? IDK.

3$ for adults and I think it was free for under 12 (not sure on the kids). Although I would suggest you call first to ensure that the volunteers are there - it is definitely worth the trip. They had a wide variety of artifacts and a full library, the volunteer even offered to help with the genealogy aspects for... More

Small but full of so much southern history and southern hospitality. First off the people who work at this museum are very friendly and welcoming. They will offer to give you a guided tour or you can choose to walk around yourself and ask them any questions you may have. There is so much to see! I was pleasantly surprised.... More

Visited museum on 4-14-15. Charlie, an extremely well read guide esp. on US Civil War history, gave us a personal tour explaning each item in the museum and it's role in southern history. This museum is not extensive, however, it is a treasure trove of important artifacts. Definately worth a stop to see!

We visited the museum today with our senior church group. I think my husband and I were the only Yankees there but it was still very interesting. If you are from the south or have relatives from the south I'm sure you would really learn a lot about the war. The man that lead our tour was very knowledgeable, he... More

We carefully checked the web site and drove out of our way to visit the museum on a Friday at 2:00. The door was locked and no temporary sign telling about not being open. Before we left another car arrived wanting to go in as well. So we have no idea what the museum is like, but be warned that... More

Having read a great deal regarding this time period, I found the exhibits very interesting. There are displays of flags, Confederate currency, and other bits of memorabilia. The staff member was interactive and helpful.
