Celebrating the history and the heroes of America with Abraham Lincoln!...

Celebrating the history and the heroes of America with Abraham Lincoln! Experience the spirit of the men and women who achieved our American independence and freedoms as you ride the rails with Abraham Lincoln at the Lincoln Train museum! Journey with Gettysburg's beloved Jim Getty portraying President Abraham Lincoln as he walks with you through the history of our nation. Experience our operating train layout presenting President Lincoln's funeral journey from Washington DC to Springfield Illinois. Board our simulated funeral train car, The United States, where President Abraham Lincoln's spirit pays tribute to the American heroes and citizens who made our nation what it is and encourages future generations to "Keep the Spirit" of our nation alive. We present displays and historic artifacts of Abraham Lincoln, our native lands and the Wild West with its struggles, heroes and horses. We explore memorabilia of our sports figures and Hollywood stars. We recall the battles and wars our nation has endured and pay tribute to our heroes, the soldiers, veterans, law enforcement and EMS of our country. The museum offers the ideal opportunity to experience our nation's past while fostering an appreciation of our present and a rekindling of hope for our nation's future.

This is a little hidden gem if you are visiting Gettysburg. Nice history presentation of Abe Lincoln, great train memorabilia, and a fun interactive train display. Very family friendly. My five year old loved it. The simulated train ride is a nice touch. There's dress up clothes for the little ones, colouring, and train toys to keep them busy. We... More

Great museum and experience. The two dioramas and the train car experience were awesome. Totally worth it and check the combo tickets with diorama museum.

If you are a train buff, then make this a stop. They have a wonderful model train set up of the history of the route of the Lincoln funeral train along with video and commentary. They also have a full size replica of the funeral train car that carried the President's casket from Washington DC to Springfield Illinois. It is... More

Nice people making a seemingly honest attempt at something that at best is just awful. The staff is so earnest that I felt guilty not liking their presentation.

This was a great treat for my son. They have a display of trains and so much other memorabilia. They have a scavenger hunt that forces us to look at each section. It's really fun to play. We first go through Lincoln life. We then saw the Lincoln funeral procession. We sat in a train ride going through Lincoln's thoughts... More

We came here since we had complimentary tickets...glad we didn't pay. It looks like someone who had an interest in model railroads put it together and then tagged a "Lincoln" theme to it. The videos didn't run and none of the model trains did either. Even if you are a model train enthusiast, it doesn't have much to offer. There... More

Based on what we read, it sounded like a great museum. Sadly, that was not the case. You watch a few videos and take a simulated train ride to Lincoln's home town. Not well done. The museum is really a model train museum with many old model cars and a model train setup with two trains running on the tracks.

Lots of different items in museum. You can take a train ride and you move just like on a real train.Different tv screens with Lincoln talking about different things.

We stopped in and looked through the gift shop and decided to do the tour. There is a lot of stuff to look at. Some related to Lincoln, some not. There were many trains on display and some working train displays. There is a train "ride" that highlights the funeral train of Lincoln's. Some things seemed a bit "corny", but... More
