Overview
More
See the ENTIRE battlefield at one time and watch the troop movements for ALL three days of battle. The battlefield covers 6,000 acres, an area large enough to be difficult to visualize. The Gettysburg Diorama will put the battle into perspective when you see the ENTIRE battlefield as it appeared in 1863. Carefully researched and meticulously assembled, the Diorama contains over 20,000 hand-painted soldiers, horses, cannons and buildings. Picture the battle through the eyes of Generals Meade and Lee as a narrative unfolds in miniature with a light and sound effects experience you won't forget.

The Gettysburg Diorama, located directly over The Spirit of Gettysburg, is a smaller tourist attraction that overviews the battle of Gettysburg. FACILITY-DIORAMA: Dusty! While the diorama is interesting, it's extremely dusty. Very sneeze-inducing. The small museum exhibits next to the diorama are about the same;...More

Sorry you feel this way about the Diorama. The other reviewers enjoyed our program and didn't complain about so much. Sorry

Wife and I stopped in as this is one of several shops along the avenue offering pretty much the same touristy junk offered elsewhere. The diorama displays are not really much of attraction as they appeared not to have been upgraded or maintained for some time....More

Hard to describe, need to see it. This huge old piece (pieces) of art were renewed just a few years ago, that renovation costs about a couple of million of dollars. The Diorama features an approximately half-hour narration and lighting effects that highlight various parts...More

I'm sorry but you have us confused with the Cyclorama. The Gettysburg Diorama is an 800 sq ft model of the entire 6,000 acre battlefield.

This is an impressive display that helps the viewers visualize the bloodiest fighting. A narration with lighting and sound effects add to the powerful impression. This is a must see, before touring the battlefields.

The diagrams is a great way to see exactly how and what happened during the Battle at Gettysburg. We went after touring the park. My suggestion would be to go before visiting the park.. I also liked the downstairs exhibit.

This is great to see before going to the battlefield. The diorama is so detailed and the presentation about the three day battle is a good history lesson.

Worth the 20 minutes that it lasts and decently done for the dated technology displayed here. Needs a facelift.

You must see this painting from the 1870's. The presentation is not exceptional, but the environment is amazing!
