Great shop, good selection of gifts and books. However the staff member at the desk couldn't read the map he gave us so wasn't very helpful.

When going to Gettysburg, there are few things you must do. You must visit the battlefield, the Visitors' Center, and the Gettysburg Heritage Center. The gift shop/store is great, the museum is different from any of the other exhibits in town, the people are fantastic,...More

Some say it's not worth it, but the worth is what you take away with you in learning history. It's inside a gift shop. As I said, it's small and most people will overlook it and so when you go you will find that it...More

My Civil War buff friends and I always stop in here to peruse their bookstore. We don't go for all the tourist stuff (shot-glasses and usual tschotskes), but they have one of the best, if not the best selections of Civil War books in Gettysburg....More

We had some time to wait for our tour, so we went in here. It was interesting and very clean. The staff was attentive.

I was reluctant to visit this museum, having read the bad reviews (although the good reviews outnumbered the bad ones, I am sceptical of good reviews in TripAdvisor). This museum contained a lot of information and displays of the impact of the battle on the...More

Was the old Wax Museum and that will be missed but this is a great new place with lots of exhibits and fun things to look at and read. Interactive exhibits for the entire family. They still have that great bookstore as well.

Nice museum with interesting displays that focuses more on the citizens of Gettysburg during the battle. The kids liked the basement simulation that simulated where the residents hid and what they saw during the battle. Good museum with a nice gift shop.

With so much going on in Gettysburg, this is the place to start to get an idea of what you can see. And what you have time for.

Thanks for your question! There is parking on-site, directly behind the museum. If you happen to park elsewhere in town, there is a trolley service that you can ride as well. Thanks!
