A stunning monument. This is a must stop on your Gettysburg visit.
You can walk to the top - do so - the views of the battlefield are stunning
Travelers tip: Avoid the tourist by avoiding the trams - they swarm off the trams by the dozens…

The PA monument is huge. It's the only one in the park that can be seen from multiple areas while driving around. We kept wondering what we were seeing while going through the park then finally go to it. It's a beautiful monument make sure u check this one out.

On my list of must stops in Gettysburg is the Pennsylvania monument. An impressive memorial to the PA boys in blue and a tribute worthy of the sacrifices of the Union Army. Climb to the top and get 360 vistas of some of the most important battle sites. Every inch of the memorial has a compass or something to take in and understand about Gettysburg. Come down to the surrounding grounds and see the canons of the time of Gettysburg.

The Pennsylvania monument is the crown jewel of the park, as well it should be. Stunning from every angle.

Not a harsh set of steps to go up to the roof, but narrow and a spiral. Worth the view in my opinion.

This is the largest of many memorials that dot the battlefield. The best thing about it is the view from the top. The climb up is windy and tight but doesn't last long. It is worth the effort.

This is amazing. It is beautiful and very clean. We will be back. You can't do the Battlefield in a day. You can skim over it.

If you are touring the Gettysburg battlefield, you can't help but notice the Pennsylvania State Memorial. Completed in 1914, it is the largest and grandest of all the state monuments in the Gettysburg National Military Park. Designed by architect W. Liance Cottrell and sculptor Samuel Murray, the colossal monument commemorates the 34,530 Pennsylvania soldiers who fought in the battle on July 1-3, 1863 during the Civil War. The memorial stands along Cemetery Ridge, the Union battle line on July 2. It features a square, granite pedestal or terrace, 100 feet on each side, with bronze tablets on its exterior face that list the names of the 34,530 Pennsylvania soldiers who fought in the battle. The memorial's entrance is on the west side or Hancock Avenue, where a wide flight of steps rises to the pedestal's terrace. A bronze Nike figure, the Goddess of Victory and Peace, crowns the podium atop the dome. There also are larger-than-life bronze statues of President Abraham Lincoln and generals George Meade, John Reynolds, Winfield Scott Hancock, David Birney, Alfred Pleasonton and David McMurtrie Gregg.

the view is very good when you go up top, but I’m concerned about the low sides, if you have a younger child around WATCH THEM VERY CLOSELY if they would to climb up the sides they would probably fall
Do not lean over it’s dangerous too

A very grand monument - almost impossible to miss even with everything else to see. Great for photos!

Not sure I understand the entire context of the question. The artillery on display around the monument is typical of Civil War parks. There are 12 pdr Napoleans and 3" rifles. Throughout Gettysburg National Military there are a handful of different gun sizes and types.
