We really enjoy the Paint Rock trail. Check Allamakee County parks for trail maps. Access road is across from Nobles Island, just south of Harpers Ferry. The trail is wide and stable, right into the heart of the Driftless hills and valleys and river bluffs....More

We made it up for a girls riding trip last weekend. It was beautiful! Lots of water crossings and hills. The trails are wide and pretty easy to navigate. We had a lot of fun here.

Well, we didn’t get to ride it a whole lot bc it flash floods. So... if you go when it’s raining you have been warned!! It was exciting and really beautiful if you take out the scary parts.

We saw no other humans on foot. A few on horseback. Lovely easy hiking at least on the trails we hiked. I think there are some rated “moderate”. Beautiful.
