Franklin Square is one of Philadelphia’s five original squares. The centerpiece is a fountain built in 1838 and fully restored in 2006. There's a carousel, mini golf and playground to entertain the young and the young at heart.

A fun inexpensive Mini Golf course. Well maintained and not too crowded in the early evening when we visited. One challenging hole!! Kudos to the very friendly young man in the kiosk who gave us some excellent Philly tourist tips.

Actuslly, it is 7 acres of fun. Mini golf, carousel, play area for kids, and the fountain in the middle of it all. A nice place to walk and relax. And if you are hungry, there is a burger hut to fill you up.

The park contains a mini golf, picnic areas, space to ramble and amble, yet right near some excellent restaurants and the Revolutionary War hub of the city. We were most recently there during the Chinese lantern festival - one of several international exhibitions presented for...More

If you're lucky, you can find on-street parking at $3 an hour. If not, you'll be paying more at a garage, so if you do the latter, make sure your kid stays a while. Carousel is great ($3 a ride, and they have a multi-ride...More

We did the Benjamin Bridge and this the same day. WE played miniature golf and did the carousel. Jon was working the carousel that day and had a great attitude. There is a play ground that the kids can play on too,

Get off at Jefferson Station by train. You can walk or catch a cab/uber to Franklin Square. Enjoy! Best place to take kids in the city. Plus, the food is incredible.

I did not see any shuttles coming and going. But there are plenty of Uber drivers in Philly; one is always close by.
