Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I’ve been to a bunch of Hard Rock Cafes all over the world and this Philadelphia location managed to check all the boxes quite well! From the yummy food to the decent selection of memorabilia throughout the restaurant and the great service that handled lots of questions and refills with ease! Parking in the area can be pretty challenging and you will probably want to reserve a garage spot in advance to avoid paying too much. The restaurant does have its own security, but there were a few folks hanging outside panhandling that you may encounter.

Food and drinks were amazing. I can recommend BBQ Ribs. It was fast and without reservation. On the other side while paying the waitress was very arogant...

Was happy to stumble upon the Hard Rock when returning to my hotel after walking around the Independence Hall area. I like to collect shot glasses, and as it was my first time to Philadelphia, I was excited to be able to add to my collection. I did not stay to eat or have a drink, but upon glancing around the restaurant, it looked pretty decent. The service at the gift shop wasn’t overly friendly, which was a bit surprising for the Hard Rock, as I am used to the employees being high energy and enthusiastic. Overall though, I would definitely return to eat.

I travelled to Philly in November with a group of students from my college in SC. About 15 of us went out to the Hard Rock on our first night in Philly for dinner. The restaurant finally found a place for all of us to sit. We all ate our food and had a good time. Then they slapped us with the bill. We're all broke college students and from the south (where everything is much cheaper than Philly. I insist!). Apparently, the staff added on a whopping gratuity charge that resulted in our bill being sky high. The bill was over $300, and none of us ordered expensive menu items, no one got appitizers, and many of us drank water! I wanted to buy a t-shirt or something from the cafe, but after being stuck with the bill, none of us had any money left that night to do anything with! Worst off, it was my idea to go to the Hard Rock, so I felt stuck with the blame for the entire trip =(. Fortunately, it didn't ruin our trip, and there are many great restaurants to eat at in Philly, this just isn't one of them. I recommend any of the food courts in the malls... we ate at several of them and the food was pretty good.

Good food. Great atmosphere. Excelent rock music and cool memorabilia around the tables. A must to go to anyone who likes rock in Pensilvanya.

the service from this location compared to others in Ohio, Indianapolis and Atlanta was VERY SLOW and seemed un-organized. the food was OK but the bread they served for their Bruschetta was burnt and cut to thick, sadly that's one of the great items the Hard Rock sells but this location didn't live up to the other locations.

We arrived late at our hotel and decided to travel across the street for dinner. I absolutely love wings, but left money on my plate. We are not very fussy eaters, but this was horrible! Not one of the four of us finished our meals due to the fact that they tasted so bad.

It's a Hard Rock, pretty typical. Go in if you want the t-shirt or just the experience, but otherwise it's the same as any other Hard Rock. Also, it's loud. As in, you may not hear the person next to you loud.

Absolutely the worst service we have received anywhere in the US ever! Server would disappear for long periods even when there was no-one else in the restaurant. She was friendly enough but that's only half of the service. Being there to take food and drinks orders and, more importantly, when we want to pay the check! This is where the service took a massive turn for the worst. She appeared with the check and was asked if military discount was available (tip: it is - 15% on food and non-alcoholic drinks). She said she didn't know but would go and find out. Fair enough. 15 minutes later she came back to say that she'd added the discount and our credit card was taken away for payment. After 10 minutes (where we could see she was serving drinks to other customers) my wife went and spoke to a manager to complain. Their response was that the server would be "back soon". Eventually the manager appeared with the check and our card giving some rubbish excuse about a till being open for another customer so that they couldn't run our check through it. There was, in my view, at least two other tills available where payment could have been made. To add insult to injury, the military discount hadn't been added. At this point it was 2 hours since we arrived (we had a salad and dessert!) so I didn't to wait for this to be corrected. I took the discount out of the potential tip the server would have earned. This meant that I left no tip but I do not feel in any way guilty about this. I am happy to leave 18-20% tips while here in the US where the service warrants it. The server here did not. I would highly recommend that visitors only visit the shop and avoid the restaurant itself.

Booked a table for 18:45 this evening and were immediately seated and given menus. A waitress said she'd be with us in a minute. 10 minutes passed and a waiter took our drink orders, of two Coke Zeros. Another waitress said she'd be with us in a minute and apologised for the delay saying she had four tables to wait on.
10 minutes passed and two sparkling waters arrived, which we had not ordered, no Coke Zeros in sight. At this point I realised this was going nowhere so we decided to leave. My son was disappointed but I explained that if a restaurant is struggling to take your order, they usually will struggle even more to get that food to you in a timely fashion.

Is there parking or only on the street?
Written 15 August 2019
Yes, on the side street, but barely. there is a parking garage across the street and some parking lots not to far down the street within walking distance.
