Did you know that there are bricks in the sidewalk marking the houses owned by folks centuries ago and their occupations? What a great country we live in, thanks to all who came before us and sacrificed so much so that we can now live...More

Central to America’s founding fathers. I imagine more beer and whatever alcoholic beverage was drunk in 1776 was enjoyed by the patriots near the mall as they began the revolution. Imagine the stories it could tell. Great place to relax and ponder.

Walking through the Mall on a crisp Saturday afternoon, surrounded by all these buildings that witnessed history, and seeing the Liberty Bell all lit up as we walked back after dark is awe-inspiring.

Looking at the old and historic buildings takes you to another place and time. You can go though some of the buildings without tickets. They are all in pristine condition and it is very interesting for children and adults alike.

We walked the mall getting to Independance Hall, good photo op place for friends and family. Well maintained, no trash and centrally located next to the Visitors center and the liberty bell.

I love the history of the USA. This place was right up my alley. I loved everything about it. It's well worth a visit. Just being in the area gave me chills. To think about it all started in this place.

Arrived in Philly after closing hours, so we didn't get to tour Independence Hall and see the Liberty Bell up close (altho we were able to see it thru the window), but it was a lovely area to walk and enjoy the architecture and the...More

Our tour guide made this visit most memorable. He certainly gave the historic view of what it is all about; unlike the Liberty Bell.

Walking up the mall towards the State House is awe inspiring. You can imagine the unpaved streets, noise, horses, heat of the day when they were hammering out both the Declaration and Constitution. This is historic and celebrated ground

I would say 1.5-2 hours should be good. If you rush and try really hard you can finish it in 45 mins - 1 hour. If I were you I would skip Mutter Museum if I run short on time.
