    Fun in Philly
Great city with a lot of history. People were so friendly and nice. We did the cheese steak at Geno's and Pats both were fantastic. The art museum is a must to see . Many great works of art there. People there sooo friendly.

    Rocky Steps
We did not go into the museum, just stopped for the Rocky Steps. Parking can be difficult; we had to park down the street and walk but parking was free. There are no public restrooms, at the time there were porta johns in the park across the street. While your here you can also stop at the Rocky Statue that is next to the steps

    Rocky
The statue is located next to the Rocky steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Parking is very limited, we parked for free down the street and walked over. There are no public restrooms, In the park across the street was porta johns. Some street vendors were selling shirts and drinks. The line for you to take your own pictures went quick, everyone was very respectful waiting their turn.

Not that impressive to be honest but worth a photo
The statue is free but there are people there organising the queue etc. I wasn’t actually sure if they were genuine employed workers or just locals on a hustle? We didn’t bother to join the queue as we weren’t interested n having our photo taken with the statue. We wanted just the statue itself which we managed to get in between changeover of people.

    Huge Tourist Attraction
The 72 steps leading up to the Philadelphia Museum of Art were made famous from the film 'Rocky' in 1976. A 10ft bronze Rocky statue was originally positioned on top of the steps where Sylvester Stallone stood but was later moved and placed on a pedestal in a grassy area near the foot of the steps to the right of the Museum. The position on top of the steps was replaced with a bronze inlay of Converse sneaker footprints with the name "Rocky" above them. There were three bronze statues commissioned, of the other two, one is owned by Sylvester Stallone and one is in the Schomberg Studios Gallery in Denver. The steps are one of the city's biggest tourist attractions.

    Eye of the tiger
As a kid we grew up with Rocky. It was good to run to Rocky every morning and around the area good for running. There are many routes you can take each morning. Phila being voted best walking city and for us a good running city along the cycling paths.

    Rocky Statue
A nice statue of Philadelphia fighter Rocky Balboa, presenting him with his arms raised in triumph. It is situated near Philadelphia Museum of Art. If you want to take a photo with the statue you have to wait in a line, quite often really long.

Decent statue in a pretty area
Not much to say other than the obvious - it's a statue of Rocky from the movies. It is in front of the museum to the right of the steps which also feature in the first film. It is in a gated area and people tend to queue up and wait till they get to the front of the queue to get an unobstructed photo which was good; only waited a couple of minutes in January although I imagine it would be busier in peak season.

    A must do
A must do in Philly. When we went there was a modest queue (line) that took about 15 mins to get through to the front. Be warned! There was a lady there at the front who gave the impression of being an official. On questioning she freely admitted she was not and that any tips were voluntary, but there was certainly pressure to pay her for taking your photo. My advice, agree with the person in front of you to take each others photo and don’t pay the “official” guide

    Rocky Fans VISIT!!!
Visited the statue on 8th March and it was brilliant. We walked the steps and took loads of pictures. Well worth the visit if your in the locality. Highly recommend a tour guide as they know a lot of the in depth of these monuments that you usually wouldn't know.

We got the obligatory photo in front of the Rocky Balboa statue, which was kitschy but begrudgingly cool. There was a Sly impersonator walking around when we were there, but the real story was the 20-30minute wait for a selfie with a statue while you pose in a pretty contrived way. There was a constant stream of tourists (like and including us) running up and down the Rocky steps. You may as well go to Philly and not get a cheesesteak. Actually, worse than that -- maybe I'm not supposed to say it but the cheesesteaks were underwhelming!)

The Rocky Statue is actually located at the foot of the Art Gallery steps at the end of the Benjamin Franklin driveway. It is easy to locate and reach, being a 20 or so minute walk from the Philly city centre. If you get there at a quiet time you will be able to pose in front of the statue and take all the shots you want. At other times it can be busy and you might have to queue. Most people then go on to run up the Art gallery steps and, for those that make it to the top with dignity, they leap and jump around in true Rocky style. This can be both entertaining and amusing as it is open to all age groups and some people bound up the steps with ease, whilst others falter. Don’t take it too seriously, it’s a bit of fun. All in all a great experience.

So glad we stopped her...of course we posed by the Rocky Statue and took pictures on the top of the steps he ran up. Friendly atmosphere, vendors sell ice cream and souvenirs here as well. You are warned NOT to give people hanging around the statue your phone to take pictures of you, but I saw people doing this and tipping the guy afterwards as he made suggestions of various poses that were actually cute! I found it disappointing to learn that the museum did not want the statue located here and it was moved four times....this is an iconic movie that adds to Philadelphia's history, they should be honored to have it here with so many visitors attracted to the area building up revenue for the city!

Went with 50 high school students from Florida. They may not know much about the Art Museum, but they alllllllll know about Rocky Balboa.
So much fun for them.
Just be careful of the steps in the rain/snow. It’s lit, but the steps are treacherous.

The line was long in the heat but there were people selling water, ice cream, and also gear along the way. It was fun to get some photos in front of the statue and fun to watch what people do when they stand in front of it! We took a few cool shots and then headed out. We climbed down the stairs after being in the museum and did not regret only climbing up a few since it was 100 degrees literally this day!

A must...especially for movie/Rocky fans.

Near the base of the Philadelphia Museum of Art stairs and nearby surrounded by the beautiful park.

Lots of people running up and down the steps as expected.

There was a line for taking pictures by the statues but it moved fairly quick as most people took a few quick photos and kept it moving...

Definitely worth the stop for this tourist. It's Rocky, come on! There was a line of people to take their own photos, but that's fine. Bit of a gruff fella was there when we went who was there to take pictures for a fee - some people went with that, some took their own photos. Short stop, but fun picture. It was hot so we bought some flavored water ice from a vendor to cool down and plot our next move.

If you love Rocky movies you have to see this statue. Its easy to find and close to other major attractions. The only downside is constantly being asked for money from panhandlers. If you want to have your picture taken with the statue there is a bit of a lineup so you might have to spend more time waiting in line than you would prefer.

I know that all tourists do this, but it is just a thing that you have to do! The Museum is also lovely, and you can walk to many other things from there. Most likely people will be there keeping the line moving and taking pictures for your group. They are by no means official but throw them a couple of bucks if you can.
