You can find the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier here. This too, in colonial times, was where enslaved Africans were once held before being sold, and it has also served as a burial ground for white and black victims of the 1793 yellow fever epidemic.

I so enjoy just walking around and seeing the beautiful flowers and trees here. Everyone enjoyed reading the different plaques placed throughout the park. It's worth the time to mosey on through and take in the beauty that is here.

Lovely park near old city with beautiful trees, a lovely fountain, and many park benches. Of greatest importance is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from The Revolutionary War

The square holds a Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, erected to the memory of unknown Revolutionary War soldiers. Formerly a cemetery but now a pleasant park with benches and towering trees.

I have been to Philadelphia 4 times and have never been here. Walked through at night. Very nice and very still. A worthwhile visit and a sit down rest for ones feet. Has a nice water fountain too

This is a tranquil federal park on the grounds near historic Independence Hall. The fountain is a calming spot, and the memorial to the revolution reminds us that much was sacrificed to birth our country.
