The facilities at the visitor center were clean and accessible. We purchased tickets for a horse and carriage ride. The person who assisted us, was so friendly, continuous smile on her face, and so attentive to our daughter. We purchased drinks at the center, where they were stocked with a variety of choices for everyone. Lastly, we were able to... More

Purchased the Philly Pass there & well worth it. Includes the Big Bus Hop on Hop off trips too. The Franklin Walking tour guide(Mitchell) was the best!

The historical park is not walled in, is a section of a big city, and the Visitors Center is "just" a building in the complex. Savvy tourists are advised to stop in, check out content6s and, if intending to visit Independence Hall, to get their required timed tickets. Unfortunately, many tourists don't figure that out and don't get maximum benefit... More

Get there when they open to get free tickets to go inside Independence Hall. Only a certain number of tickets are available each day and they go fast. The visitors center has a lot of neat displays and short films (30 minutes).

Good place to park close to Liberty Bell and the Hall. They have tickets but it's better to get them ahead of time. Didn't see any exhibits but looked like typical visitors center movies etc. walked straight through to the restrooms which are close to the liberty bell building.

Lots of indoor activities and a great set of maps of the area. They also have the best gift shop anywhere around Independence Park. The downside is it's indoors and lets be honest, you are there to see the area's history so spend your time outside and tour the area. This attraction does have one big upside - the park... More

This place has some great resources if you are foreign to Philly and don't have a plan for your trip. Stop by here, get a map, and you get free directions and advice to great attractions. Also some good history info. Don't eat here.

This is a great place to learn about American history and the founding of this great nation. Too many people forget what our founding fathers have done to set up a great democracy.

There is a good-sized gift shop, a decent snack bar, and some exhibits relating to historic Philadelphia. You might see someone working on an 18th century craft and, if you are lucky, one of the re-enactors who embody important figures from Revolutionary times. Did I mention it was air conditioned and has restrooms -- very important an a hot and... More
