Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The wind circle sculpture is a short side stop along the way to Devil's Tower. It's definitely a photo op, but a cool one. Take 5-10 min to enjoy a different view of the tower.

This is a nice area to take in the great view of the Devil's Tower w/ the Wind Circle ( Sacred Smoke) to enhance the beauty of nature's gift. This Art was created by a Japanese sculptor. It is worth seeing this beautiful art concept.

After a delightful drive through Spearfish Canyon, we made a mad dash to Devils Tower to meet ET :). The park was officially closed but the gates were open and we were able to walk on the trail where we and found these evocative sculptures. Very cool and relaxing.

This is a unique work of art. You can capture some really cool pictures of the Devil's Tower through the inside of the wind circle. If you are visiting the Tower the sculpture is at the base near the Prairie Dog Town. If you park in the picnic area lot (less crowded) you can view the sculpture and read its history on your way to the various trails.

The only way I knew about this art piece was from Trip Advisor. It is easily missed because there are no signs and you cannot see it from the road.
When you enter the park, make a left to head toward the camping area. Go past the trailer parking and the walkway is immediately on the left.
It makes a cool picture seeing Devil’s Tower through the circle.
We were the only ones there at 3:00pm that day.

Ok, this isn't a review as much as an admission of stupidity. We stopped and looked at the prairie dogs for a while. I was walking around taking pics and saw the sculpture, took some pics of it and went on. I had no idea what it was or why it was there. I was just fascinated by all these prarie dogs, they were everywhere. In a couple years when we go back I'll have to check it out.

This is not located up near the actual Tower but rather at the turn off for the campground - left turn if you are on your way in or right on your way out. After being up close to the monument this gave a much different view. It was a nice stop for pictures and for reflection.

The Circle of Smoke sculpture, calling for peace, is a great photo opportunity. Take a picture of the circle itself, and of the tower through the sculpture. There is also a nice trail nearby that goes through a few prairie dog towns and partway up the Devil's Tower base. Make sure to give it a stop.

The walk or ride thru this area is amazing. So many things to see and experience. You could watch for hours all the activity of the little furry creatures that are on the grounds....

Near the prairie dog fields and camp grounds, make sure you get a park map, it is listed on the map- the Rangers can point it out on the map.
