4 adults went a day that boating was not an option, but would say go no matter the weather. There is only ONE CROWDED bridge to get here, so in high season, bring your patience. I believe Bradenton will be more popular as the other places are getting so busy in high season, so they better figure this out. Maybe... More

This museum has a great planetarium with shows at certain times. It has a wonderful Manatee, Snooki, with times to watch him feeding with his trainer explaining his history, great for adults and children. The rest of the museum has great explanations of the native peoples in this area. Manageable sized museum, not overwhelming.

Our grandchildren, aged two and five, were bored from the get go. It was quite expensive at $19 for each adult, $17 for seniors. I will say that the Manatee was really interesting. The facts that he eats 80 pounds of food a day, weighs more than 1200 pounds, is 68 years old, and consumes $36,000 worth of food every... More

There are wonderful exhibits from dinosaurs to plants and various animals. We saw the manatee show. The planetarium film and lecture was wonderful. Though not as huge as most, for the time limited tourist, it is perfect. We visited, had lunch nearby and returned. Bradenton was a side trip from Sarasota, and we found it to be a wonderful experience!

We have wanted to visit this museum for years and now we've finally made it. The museum's building itself is beautiful. The entry fee is extremely good value. There are so many wonderful things, covering a multitude of subjects there to enthral you. We were treated to a great presentation about Snooty in the Parker aquarium. Of particular interest to... Seemed a little pricy when deciding if we wanted to go. But turned out to be worth the cost. Many exhibits, saw "Snooty", the worlds oldest known manatee(born in 1948). And the have a planetarium with fantastic shows. Must see!

What a pleasant surprise. This museum is packed with so much history, archeology, and a lot that it took hours to reel it all in (fish joke). The planetarium was a real bonus. The presenter there was not your typical "fall asleep" in the dark guide...he spoke with such passion and presented things in his program that I have never... More

This is always a pleasurable place to visit and I always learn something from the various programs at the planetarium and the the museum that tells us a little about the history of Florida. Don't forget the viewing area where Snooty the manatee resides.
