Sunwatch is an authentic site, but it is small. I would plan maybe an hour to an hour and a half. There is a small indoor museum with information. Some of the outdoor trails are covered in mulch, making it difficult on wheelchairs.

Very sad to see such an important archaeological site not kept up. Huts falling down signage faded and some very hard to read. Locals need to restore this village to it's former grandeur.

The historical significace of this sacred site is immeasurable. As a first time visitor we were impressed with the modest reception/exhibit area. A 12 minute video was conducive to introducing us to what was to be seen outside. The village as been extensively excavated revealing...More

This is a very popular location for school field trips. There are some reconstructed Indian structures based on actual post holes. You get a good idea of life here several hundred years ago.

This is the site of an ancient American Indian village. Located by a waste treatment plant and hidden away one suddenly comes upon this remarkable building. You will see a film explaining the site and how it was discovered. There is a museum to learn...More

This archeological site does an excellent job of bringing the Fort Ancient culture to life, between the reconstructed village buildings and the indoor exhibit of artifacts excavated at the site. The signage and interpretation are clear and engaging.
