We loved this museum! Don't miss the two movies! Lots of interactive things for kids. There is also a revolutionary encampment outside with demonstrations of cooking, shooting and other activities.

We went to the Museum with an 11-year old who got interested in Revolutionary War history thanks to the musical Hamilton. The Museum was very well organized and had a good number of interactive electronic exhibits, including one where you could implement different strategies for...More

The Yorktown American Revolution Museum is a great place to visit. Being able to see a recreation of a 18th-century tobacco plantation and a revolutionary army encampment was very cool. We were able to see a demonstration of a musket being fired, what an 18th-century...More

Effective combination of indoor and outdoor exhibits exploring the American Revolution with increased attention to Native American and African American voices. Large physical space with attractive displays and technology features--but fewer artifacts than expected. Highlights include multiple-dimension Siege Theater, various more interactive features in exhibits...More

We used our Historic Triangle ticket -- through the Williamsburg Lodge with admission to Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown -- to visit on a Sunday, and we had a terrific time with our six-year old son. The museum has a lot of hands-on and "touchable" exhibits...More

The museum is new and has a great deal of "technology." Unfortunately, there is much to read and not nearly as much to experience in the way of artifacts on display. There is the de rigeur movie, which while having a unique presentation, is short...More

The place is new and well laid out, however there were many tech glitches with the events. Automatic doors on theaters do not open. This could all be solved by having staffers stationed throughout the building. Having to walk the length of the museum to...More
