The Little Rock Zoo creates engaging experiences that inspire people to value and conserve the natural world. With more than 500 animals representing 200 different species, many of which are endangered, the Little Rock Zoo is the only zoo in the state of Arkansas accredited by the prestigious Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). The Zoo features noted habitats such as the Laura P. Nichols Penguin Pointe exhibit with underwater viewing of African Penguins as well as the Arkansas Heritage Farm with numerous heritage breed animals that can be fed and touched. The Zoo's beautiful Cafe Africa looks like a stone style African lodge and features great food for any pallet. The Zoo's Conservation Education Center is always hosting interesting programs inside the park including shows on the amphitheater stage, animal meet-n-greets throughout the park and other fun activities. Check-out the Zoo website for a full listing of upcoming activities and events!

We love the zoo and go often. We've seen several of the animals up close and the flowers/greenery are very well maintained. The train ride is not very interesting - we'd love to see it go around the entire park, or a further distance, so...More

Saw a lot of animals were depressed and trap in small exhibits area. Some exhibits are total inappropriate for some animals such as small space for elephants, bears, lions, and small monkeys. A lot of them are sit and boring to death and there is...More

Small but well maintained zoo. Animals appeared to be in good health and happy. A little noisy as the zoo is close to the highway. Summer may be quieter when foliage is on plants and trees.

We were looking for something to do during a stop in Little Rock on a family road trip & this zoo was perfect. We followed the zoo’s recommendation to visit mid-afternoon to avoid school field trips & we were rewarded with zero crowds. We often...More

We were greeted with a very energetic and entertaining greeter that set the mood for our visit. He made the wait in line a fun experience.

Overall the zoo exceeded my expectations. All of the animals were visible and out. The most impressive thing was the great apes, their baby chimp being adorable. Most of the exhibits were very spacious. This zoo was surprisingly very quick to walk. The path is...More
