We saw this while in town for Hamilton, and were blown away. Fortunately we were able to see Cynthia Evrio, which was amazing!! I'm sure the next cast is great too - run don't walk to see this show!

I was delighted by the sets and by the si going voices - very talented. Only thing that was unusual for me was the audience participation, the audience would randomly start clapping and shouting woohoo at the stage at rather inappropriate moments! Overall a great...More

Saw this show back in August. It was absolutely inspiring and amazing. The only thing hat would've made it better was if Danielle Brooks was performing that night; the ticket office said she wasn't that evening because of filming. Anyway I've seen many different shows...More

A play which captivates it's audiences; pulling on the heart strings from beginning to end. This play is well written, directed and great use of minimal props, it strips away all the extras that all other shows use to bring amazement using only chairs and...More

Every seat in this theater is a great seat. We got tickets same day at TKTS. Such a great show, highly recommend it. I had never seen or read the Color Purple so didn't know what to expect. Wonderful story and the cast was amazing!

We visited NYC from the UK, specifically to see the Color Purple, as I adore the cast recording and the reviews have been glowing. The audience was the most enthusiastic I've ever been a part of, with lots of mid-song and mid-show applause and cheering,...More

If you have seen the movie and appreciate the story. Then you must see the play before it shut downs on January 8th 2017. The performances and vocals was out of this world. I guarantee you will not disappointed.

Hi, Lindyl. Cast changes are quite common on Broadway musicals. But, the quality of the productions is so high, that even understudies perform amazingly. So, I would go anyway, even if Ms. Erivo has left the production... More
