Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I’d seen this statue several times while in the park but didn’t understand why it was there until on a recent visit. The statue is a gift from Argentina and its General Jose de San Martin who helped liberate Argentina, Peru and Chile. It was erected in the early 1950’s.

This large bronze statue is a tribute to the heroic Argentinian general José de San Martín. It is located at the corner of Central Park South and Avenue of the Americas. It is one of many statues found in the Central Park area.

I didn't know about the Statue until I look it up. So yeah, it expand my knowledge more about a particular statue. This statue is donated by the Argentina Government and was put at the south of Central Park in 1950s.
Not bad. Read more in wiki. There's always room for more knowledge.

In its own right this is a good bronze sculpture of an argentine General on a horse and has some great detail and sits on a 20 foot block. Donated by Argentina in 1951 to the city of New York, it is located in Central Park.

When approaching Central Park by way of the Avenue of Stars you will encounter the equestrian statue of General José de San Martín of Argentina (1778-1859), the notable historical figure who is credited with helping to liberate Argentina, Chile and Peru from Spanish rule in the early 19th century.
This monument is a smaller version of the original in Buenos Aeros and was given to city of New York in 1951 by Argentina. It depicts the general seated on a galloping horse, seemingly pointing into the distance. The bronze statue stands upon a 20-ft tall black granite pedestal with inscription.
If you enjoy equestrian statues, this is an interesting monument at the south end of Central Park. There are numerous other statues of historical figures scattered throughout the park as well. Have a quick look at this one before entering and keep your eye out for others as you enjoy The Park.
