Kehila Kedosha Janina is a Romaniote Jewish synagogue in the Lower East Side. They offer free tours on of the synagogue itself on Sundays. It's a tiny place, and so the tour doesn't last long, but after it you can go to the second floor...More

I was moved by the existence of this beautiful Greek Synagogue. I learned so much and Eli, a congregant of 60 years spent a great deal of time sharing his experiences as a Jew of Greek descent.

Covers the history of a little known branch of Judaism, Romaniote Jews. Interesting photos and artifacts. On the main floor is the synagogue. The building is an historical landmark. Check museum hours. Only open on Sundays.
