Neighbourhood: Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighbourhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighbourhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This home is a historical landmark of Greenwich village, being the home of artist such as cartoonist, William Steig, and poet, Edna St. Vincent Millay. It is quite close to the Cherry Lane theater too.
And just for fun, I Zilllowed the house to see it's estimated value and discovered it is for sale (May 2023 is when I looked). If you have ~$4,000,000 to spend and don't mind tourists taking photos of your house everyday, it can be yours!

75 and a half Bedford Street is an architecturally interesting house that has been squeezed in between the neighbouring houses. Cute.

This a charming neighborhood. Great for walking. Good restaurants. Shopping
My husband and I owned this house for a decade.
