I cannot describe how upset I was with the whole experience.
I carefully chose the seats and based on the seating chart of the theater, thought that I had made a great choice and that our seats would be wonderful. I paid $79 each seat.
The floor plan of the theater did NOT indicate that:
on either side of the stage there would be white semi-circle drapes obstructing the view
o during one part of the performance, Deni had a little girl on the stage sitting on a bench – which we could NOT see
o Deni virtually ignored the B side orchestra – I guess he couldn’t see us either!
there would be steps going onto the stage and the railing of the steps would obstruct the view
o Our view was of the railing during the whole performance and we had to keep moving to see the performer
The show itself was a total disappointment:
The first portion involved looking at a dark stage while a video (with no audio) played on the big screen TVs. The audience was 5 and under – who obviously can’t read.
The last portion of the show was a laser show. I did not buy tickets to see a laser show. I was also very happy that my daughter-in-law didn’t attend. She has epilepsy and the show would have triggered an attack. Besides the fact that it is scientifically proven that watching that sort of flashing lasers causes epileptic like attacks in small children. I thought that this portion of the show showed a gross lack of judgement by the producers and performer.

In order for your kids to be connected to those bubbles, you have to have front row center otherwise it's hit and miss and disappointed kids. It's a nice show but more can be done for the price. My granddaughter enjoyed but the show should be enhanced for the price.

Although I had read in the reviews that the best seats are in the middle, my husband wanted an aisle because our child is three and we thought he might not last for the show. So we sat on a side row. I must say that the fact that they sell seats in these side rows is truly unethical (and this is coming from a lawyer, so...). The bubbles that come out at first hit only the middle of the theater, which means that my toddler had to watch as other kids got to play with bubbles while we were stuck on the side, watching and (of course), he was crying about why he couldn't pop any bubbles too.
The worst seats were the front row on the side, where i saw a mother and crying little boy leave halfway through. Due to some large white curtains (which had no use at all), they could not see the stage at all and there were certainly NO bubbles going their way. I hope they did not pay extra for the front row!
So say you luck out and get in the middle - is it worth it? Absolutely not! This is an hour of your life that you can never recover.
The first ten minutes were fine (i had "Ana Yang" as our bubble person but trust me that there is no way that another bubble person could improve the show). So for ten minutes she did some cool bubble things and the kids (and greedy adults) in the first row and sometimes, if the adults were distracted, the kids in the second row, got to pop the bubbles that she made. It was heartbreaking to watch all the kids really hoping a bubble would come their way, but it never would because some dad up in front would feel the need to pop it first. It was like a display of the worst of humanity - with bubbles.
Then we were treated to a low quality tv clip from a Guiness world record show about how the Yangs made a large bubble called the "bubble wall of china" and broke some record. Then everyone was obligated to applaud this feat of mediocrity (on film). After that, there were four kids brought on stage and put in a bubble (which was the same thing offered to everyone by normal dudes (not bubble master Yangs) for $20 for a photo. In fact, the photo op guys could put whole families in the bubble - perhaps they should have their own world record video clip?
After that Ms. Yang put bubbles on lighted stands. Yep. Just what I said. The lighted stand makes the bubble light up too. I thought she was going to then do something cool with the lit bubble, but nope. She put other bubbles around it so that it looked like the consistency of a bubble bath and then called for a volunteer to wear a "bubble hat" - which was exactly the same thing that I do with my kids in the bathtub. But no $79 tickets required for the nightly bath. And my kids get to actually come in contact with the bubbles in the bathtub.
Then one little girl was brought up to sit in a "world of bubbles" which meant that the stage went dark and when it was lit again, there were bubbles on the ground and in the air. So this little kid probably did enjoy that part but then she was yanked out of her fantasy bubble world to thank Ms. Yang for a novelty jar of bubble juice.
At the end they sprayed bubbles throughout the theater from the ceiling. My son was appeased with this although we were instructed not to move from our seats at all, so that was tough for a toddler who wanted all the bubbles. But all i kept thinking was, why didn't they use the ceiling bubbles earlier? Its soap and water blown through fans. Its not like they can't afford to run the ceiling bubbles with everyone paying at least 49 and usually 79 a pop (pun intended) to sit in there and watch someone blow bubbles for an hour.
I would suggest as an alternative outing either (a) watching the guy in central park who blows bubbles or (b) purchasing a bubble machine on amazon for $30.

Just check couple of websites before you go. Some websites were offering $180 tickets and some around $49. Also there is no need to book the expensive tickets. With regular cheapest ticket, you can see and enjoy the same. Also theatre is not completely booked. You can easily get in by buying the ticket at the door.
Second.. this show is nice for anyone but best for kids under 8 years. They will enjoy the most. Overall it’s something full of fun but our best part was the laser light show in the end.

The show is ok and lives up to its name of a Gazillion Bubble show. After that it falls short unless you are age 3 to 10. Greater than 50% of the bubbles are made with a machine and a fan - and involve laser lights and music. Kids like it, adults are not really impressed.
We purchased the VIP premier seats. In retrospect i would not recommend this option. Unless you are planning on going back to your hotel and taking a shower and changing your clothes, you do NOT want to sit in the first 5 rows. Icky, slimy, wetness will engulf your seating area.
If you want something to do and have kids, it will kill a few hours in the afternoon, but i would recommend spending your hard earned money on real NYC attractions like Radio City, Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Family oriented Broadway Shows, or even just spend the money at FAOSwarz.
Have fun and safe travels

The show is good, both the 7 and the 12 yo enjoyed it. We splurged and sited them right in the front of the stage, 1st row. The price is around $100 per ticket. The kids were right in the middle of all the action. Note: they got covered in soapy film from the bubbles. My husband and i got the first row on the side - $45 per ticket. No action and maybe a dozen small bubbles for the duration of the show. Little kids behind us were constantly asking why they get none, so make sure you get at least first 4 rows and not any further, right in front of the stage.
Kids were asked to volunteer to be part of the act, so if your kids up for it, they need to show it, to attract attention.
There is a laser show as a final act and some little children got really scared, so i would not recommend it for children under 2.5, but it depends on your child,

So let me make this easy for everyone who is trying to navigate between positive and negative reviews: Does your kid love bubbles? Do you kind of love bubbles? If the answer is Yes and Sort of Yes, then you are going to love this show. It's not Hamilton or Cirque du Soleil for goodness sakes so get your expectations in order. It is bubbles of all sizes and quantity being blown all over the place. Some really cool mix of dry ice and bubble together, kids participating from the crowd, bubbles like snow, a laser show for some reason and then...you guessed it...more bubbles. If you want to get an idea of how much a kid might actually enjoy themselves, just look at the picture I included.

Ripoff, horrible. Don’t waste your time or money. Hundreds of dollars to watch a lady blow bubbles and turn on a bubble machine.
Better off buying the machine and doing it at the park
Could’ve been a 5 minute show.

I went with my 2 children and my friend who was visiting town for the week.
Very nice show for the children. It lasts for one hour and 10 min at the most. I have a 3 yr old (almost 4) and a 5 year old. They had a great time. My niece of 9 also enjoyed it. The theater is small so actually mostly all seats work. We were at row G, very close to the scenario, it works very well for small children. The first rows are fun too, children will be able to pop up the bubbles although they will definitely get wet. Is an interactive show, children are invited to join the scenario and participate in some of the show activities. I surely recommended. Tickets are not expensive compared to the traditional broadway shows.
My only comment is for the "bubble photos"... you have to pay in advance before even seeing the picture. What if it's not a good one... and anyways, if that are the rules, they way we were told was very rude "pay first, then picture" ??? We were not planning to run without a picture but it would have been nice to choose them and be sure we did like them before buying... like in any touristic place you go in NY.
I do recommend the show for small kids, nice family plan.

It was school holidays and my little family (husband, 3 year old) and I were looking forward to doing 'something different.' I decided to book 3 tickets at $39 each for us to attend this 60 minute show which featured as part of a children's festival that was on. We were all excited! The show began with the song, "Cotton eyed Jo" which got the audience super excited. We clapped our hands in anticipation. Melody Yang entered the stage blowing bubbles around of various sizes, to which the audience responded in amazement (upon reflection I'm not sure why, because it was something that anyone could do). The next segment consisted of Melody telling the audience about her life through a 5 minute video clip?? She has been doing this since she was 4 and was now 25. She sounded bored. She then attempted to blow a square bubble but failed twice. The next segment took 20 minutes involving the children from the audience. It took her about 5 minutes to scower the auditorium to find kids. She placed a bubble over the children and that was the end of that segment?? Another video clip of how they broke 2 world records were screened. The most entertaining part of the show was the last 10 minutes where "gazilions of bubbles' filled the auditorium and then she did a lazor show. When I asked my 3 year old what her favourite part of the show was, she responded with excitement to say "when daddy said we could go and get pizza!!" A very expensive $120 later for something that we could have just youtubed online.

Regarding the side sections. I believe the tickets we are looking at are in 3rd row on the side, but center aisle (seats 2/4). Were you on that aisle? or the aisle next to wall? I am very interested in opinions, as this will be the first/only time we attend! :-)
Also, can you tell me how long the show really is, and if there are activities to keep you in the theater after the show, or does everyone leave?
Thanks so much!
Written 17 October 2019
If facing the stage, we sat on the right side. We were closer to the aisle than the wall and I would select similar seats if I had to do it again. The advantage was less competition for my son to try and grab bubbles. The sight line was still very good. If you can get the first row that separates the first and second sections on the aisle - that is the way to go. There isn't much before or after the show to keep you occupied outside of the chance to get a picture inside a giant bubble (this is real--not green screen) or souvenir shopping.

I’m going with friends and our kids. One of the kids is under 2 years old - do they need a ticket to sit on a lap? We are looking to buy the tickets on groupon and its a fixed rate for everyone.
Written 8 July 2018
Hi. Here’s what their website says about children 2 and younger:
“Everyone must have a ticket. Lap seats for children 2 years and under are $20, available only at the box office.”
Good luck.

Sorry, just saw your question. No, you do not have to dress up.
Written 12 August 2017
The theater is on 50th Street between 8th and 9th Ave. There is a very nice courtyard right next to it where you can sit before the show. If you go east from there, you will pass Radio City Msuic Hall on 6th, then Rockefeller Center is between 6th and 5th. There is plenty to do there. The concourse for shipping, the ice rink. LEGO store, NBC etc. Then you have the entire city to explore depending how far you want to go. North would take you to Central Park. South would take you to Timre Square, Empire State.

Is it a good idea to buy the side seats on the 3rd row? Would the kids still have a good view?
