- James ANew Smyrna Beach, Florida1,203 contributionsA must see, just excellent12/6/23 7:00 show; Excellent, singing and acting was over the top. The Stage scenery was perfect but should have been after being 20 years on Broadway. Again the singing was the best I have ever experienced. Great Venue, we were second row (B) in the upper mezzanine and still very good seats.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 17 December 2023
- Curious_ChemistConnecticut195 contributionsWickedly good.I was really impressed with this show. Even from the second to last row in the mezzanine, it was still awesome. I love how it completely changed the story of the Wizard of Oz and gave it much more depth. The cast was incredible!Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 1 April 2024
- travellernyc-13New York City, New York19 contributionsWicked- still the bestWhat a great experience! It's our second time seeing the show We brought friends with us and it was a great as ever. The cast was different but just as stellar. The theater is located near great restaurants and getting in is very organized. Our friends had seen social media posts about the theater and the show and were so excited to see it. They loved the souvenir cups and got a sweatshirt!Visited May 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 23 May 2024
- Joanne DBowie, Maryland89 contributionsFun Show for 11 and 12 year oldsWe purchased tickets in advance as our 11 year old desperately wanted to see it and I didn’t want to take a chance that tickets would be available for purchase the day of. However, if you are flexible in what you see, take your chance and buy tickets day of. Buying tickets in advance incurs service fees. It was worth it. The kids loved it. We purchased row Q off the side. I think I would go with row R next time to avoid the heads in front of row Q but Q offers great leg room because it is next to aisle into theatre which meant the next row, although an aisle away is kind of on same level as Q. I had the big head in front of me and kids got lucky. They saw entire stage. Enjoy !Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 10 August 2024
- John TWashington DC, District of Columbia16 contributionsAn Ever-Enchanting Experience – My Fourth Time Watching Wicked!Seeing Wicked on Broadway for the fourth time, with previous experiences in both London and New York, I can confidently say this show never loses its magic. Each performance brings something new to the table, and this most recent viewing in New York was no exception—it was absolutely spellbinding! The cast delivered powerful performances that brought the characters of Elphaba and Glinda to life in ways that felt both fresh and familiar. The chemistry between them was palpable, and the iconic songs like “Defying Gravity” and “Popular” were as impactful and moving as ever. The production values remain top-notch, with elaborate costumes, breathtaking set design, and special effects that truly transport you into the world of Oz. Every detail, from the lighting to the choreography, is meticulously crafted to create a captivating experience. Whether it’s your first time or your fourth, Wicked is a must-see that continues to enchant audiences of all ages. For me, it’s a show that only gets better with each viewing, and I can’t wait to see it again in the future. Wicked truly is the epitome of Broadway magic!Visited August 2024Travelled soloWritten 2 September 2024

This was our second time seeing Wicked, this time with the kids. The first time was in 2016 and we had a spectacular time! This time we were back in town and saw Lion King and Wicked. We had arrived at the theater after taking in the beauty of Central Park on a gorgeous yet hot summer day. We were going to stop to drink some water and have a bite to eat first but I told my kids we can get a snack at the theater and something to drink (my wife still remembered how much she enjoyed her Ozmopolitan cocktail and was really looking forward to it) while we watch the show. As we approached the theater's bar we were told we were NOT PERMITTED to bring our snacks and drinks into the auditorium. We were in disbelief. My daughters were dehydrated from the heat. So for almost a 3 hour performance we were not permitted to drink (even water!!!) except for the 15 minute intermission where all their time spent on line for the ladies' room. It turned out to be an extremely difficult evening for them and we ended up leaving 20 minutes before the show ended due to how hungry and dehydrated we all were. Days before, at Lion King, we all brought our drinks to our seats and enjoyed our evening. I asked an employee why the new rule was in place and they said because of covid. Yet there was no mask requirement anymore so it didn't make any sense. They shrugged their shoulders, obviously as confused as we were. So, as great as the performance is, the experience was terrible. I could never recommend going to the only Broadway show not allowing snacks or drinks inside a 3 hour show when there are so many other wonderful shows which allow it.

This was the fifth time I’d seen Wicked and the second time on Broadway. Wicked is such an amazing show and it never disappoints.
The great thing about seeing Wicked on Broadway and not in a travelling tour is that the staging and production is so much ‘more’!
The storyline is brilliant, the singing is out of this world and the underlying messages of friendship and standing up for the greater good are heartwarming and tear jerking.
If you have not seen Wicked before, you definitely should because it’s phenomenal!

We drove from Maryland specifically to see this broadway show, despite the tour version playing in our own state. This show was absolutely amazing! We went on 2-13-20. The set was amazing. The special effects were great. Yes, the plot is silly, isn't it supposed to be? The actresses playing Elphaba and Glinda were phenomenal. The actress playing Glinda was adorable and truly brought that role to life. The actress play Elphaba had an amazing voice. I would recommend it for teens and up! I cannot wait to go again! Don't miss this one!

We booked Wicked on a recent pre Christmas trip to New York for my friends 50th and the show did not disappoint.
It was just WOW from start to finish. Super story, great set, fantastic actors.
The show is at the Gershwin Theatre which was a short walk from the Riu Plaza where we were staying.
We were in the first upper circle to the right of the stage second row in and had a fabulous view.
The theatre staff where friendly and helpful and very efficient getting a large number of people into the theatre and seated.
We didn't use the bar in the interval so can't comment on the prices
But in terms of the show book, book, book you will love it.

The show performance was excellent, and I have nothing to complain about in regard to the show itself. I did NOT have a pleasant experience at the theater though. I have a medical condition and I need to have water on me at all times. I was told that I could NOT bring a bottle of water to my seat. I kept having to get up and leave the theater. It was very embarrassing for me. I ended up watching most of the show on the TV monitor in the lobby so I could drink water and not bother everyone else in my row getting up every ten minutes.
I asked the usher why people can't bring water into the theater. They told me no drinks or snacks or anything is allowed in because the Producer doesn't want it. Shame on that person! Someone is going to have a real problem one of these days.

We had seen the touring show before, with original cast, but found this really spectacular. The Gershwin theatre was beautiful and added to the experience.
We had great tickets a few rows from the front, which we thought were worth the investment.
It was absolutely FREEZING COLD though, and we joined many others at the interval requesting the ushers to ease off the air conditioning. They explained that the theatre is deliberately chilled for the comfort of the actors, who are very active in heavy costumes. The ushers explained they sensibly wear several layers of clothing (think Winter fleeces over 3 other layers in July) to cope with the very low temperature.
It would be great if the theatre advised guests to do likewise!

The show is fantastic, but how places like these can charge the extortionate rates for refreshments like they do is a disgrace. We got two alcoholic drinks one wine and one disgusting cocktail (wasn't really a cocktail, thrown together in literally 2 seconds) and it was over 60 dollars. Take your own drinks and refreshments.

Caution: It may have been a great show but having just arrived in NYC with my family, excited to see the show, the experience was horrible. My mother has diabetes. We were told we were not aloud to have a juice/soda/water to sip on while we were inside the auditorium. It's almost a 3 hour show. I was embarrassed to have brought my mother out to NYC and tell that during such a long show the producers of Wicked (whom we were told decided that rule) would make her suffer so much. I guess the show having made over 1 Billion dollars on Broadway has not made the producers any kinder!

I had heard so many great things about this show, I was very anxious to draw my own conclusions. I thoroughly enjoyed the production. The voices of the two female leads were perfect for their roles. The choreography and music were top notch and the evening very entertaining!

I just bought three tickets to take my children. I thought last time I was able to pick seats at checkout. Can anyone confirm the seats will be together?

We have tickets to the 2:00 show. Is the dress code as formal for the early afternoon show as it is for the evening show? I am not sure what to wear. I have been shopping for a new dress for my wife to wear but I don't know how fancy to go. Any advice?
Written 15 January 2019
Pleople wear all kinds of outfits. Jeans. Sneakers. Since we were out and about all day in NYC and not close to the hostel, even so we had some other clothing items in our backpacks, we ended up not being dressed up whatsoever.
It's not a perfect world. I don't think anyone minded.

Maybe I'm more conservative than the others, but I would arrive about 45 min before. We were still in a big line. Although it was very crowded, it was pretty calm and organized. We were one of the first in our seats, which we liked as it allowed time for a couple pics (with Playbill in hand). Enjoy!

Hi
Ive just booked tickets for six row L from ticketmaster for Wicked in November.
Seat numbers are odd numbers though, 5, 7,9,11,13,15.
Will we be seated all together or are the rows numbered differently from say 1,2,3,4,5,6?
Many thanks.
Written 4 October 2018
Hello! Odd numbers are one half of the theatre, evens on the other (I don’t remember which is left/right). You’ll be together!

Hello, looking at getting tickets in Orchestra right side row J seats 2and4(isle seats). Those good seats?
Thanks.

If you go to the website for the Theatre you should see a visual of the seating arrangements. I might also suggest going to an Apple app called Seat geek. This is a great app that shows concerts, plays, athletic events and prices to attend.
I hope this helps? It's a great production and well worth the money. Enjoy!
