The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

I can’t comment on the normal atmosphere of the place since we went during a soccer game and it was sooo loud. So the waiter was kind of rude to us right from the get go. We were on a girls trip and there were only 3 of us that went here and we were very polite. The waiter told us we had to put a card down before we could order but wouldn’t explain why. We’ve never encountered this so we were confused but gave him a card. We ordered potato skins (good) and 2 items off their daily special menu, a steak sandwich (undercooked and made wrong) and a Buffalo chicken salad (ok, didn’t get the extra dressing we asked for but no big deal). The waiter put in our order and after 5 minutes came back and asked what we wanted on the steak sandwich again. We had asked for no lettuce or tomato. Another 15 minutes and he comes back to ask how we want it cooked, medium. Another 15 minutes and we get our food as described above. Whatever we had reservations next door so we made do and ate the food. Another table gets seated right next to us in a pretty empty dining area. They order and get their food in less than 10 minutes and they had similar entrees. Another table right behind them and same thing. The waiter never came back and I had to grab the waitress of the other 2 tables to get our check and pay. She explained that the card up front was due to the soccer game going on to keep people from skipping out on the check with all the chaos that goes on. Understandable. I’m not sure why we had so many issues getting our food correctly and in a timely manner from our waiter but the other tables waitress had no issues delivering correct and fast food while being friendly. Luck of the draw I guess.

I have been a regular at Legends NYC for over four years, spending hundreds of hours and dollars at the bar to enjoy the best football games. After my experience this weekend, I am NEVER going back again. My friends and I arrived at 11:30am this weekend to watch the Newcastle vs Arsenal game. The bar was almost empty, so we sat down at a table downstairs and ordered a round of tap water while we waited for our full party arrived. Several times, a hostess came up to us and asked what we wanted to eat and/or drink. We explained that we were waiting for our friend and still needed time to decide; one of my friends tried to order coffee, but the hostess let us know that they were not serving any hot beverages. The hostess returned shortly after to let us know that we had to order food to stay at the table. Eventually, our full party arrived and a couple of us ordered breakfast dishes. The hostess asked what the rest of us wanted to eat, and we said that we needed more time to decide. Soon after, the owner of Legends came over to our table and started shouting at us because the full table hadn't ordered breakfast items. Apparently, everyone at Legends now needs to order a breakfast dish (+$18 and up) AS WELL as a beverage to be able to stay. Despite the bar being almost empty, the owner asked our table to leave if we weren't planning to all order breakfast as well as beverages. We looked around and noticed that NO ONE else had at a table had food as well as a beverage. As one would expect at a sports bar, most guests only had beverages. After we told the owner that we weren't all planning to get food items, he became increasingly aggressive. He reminded us that rents in NYC were incredibly expensive and he couldn't afford to have "people like us" at his bar. Now shouting, the owner was attracting the attention of the entire bar. Many other guests seemed confused and, in some cases, shocked by what they were watching. Insulted, we decided to cancel our current order and leave immediately. I have been going to Legends for years, and have introduced many friends in the city to the bar. After today, I will never go again. I will tell everyone I know to stay away from this horrible bar run by aggressive, rude individuals. Do not give them your money. The food is mediocre and over-priced anyway.

Came in while a Chelsea Football game was on, the bar had maybe 2-3 tables occupied so we were seated straight away and ordered drinks (we had just eaten so only there for drinks and to watch the game). When the drinks were brought over in plastic glasses, despite asking for a bottle of miller lite, we were then rudely told it was a minimum $25 per person spend to watch the game. Considering we had a child with us who only drank water, I was drinking Coca Cola and we had already eaten, there was no chance of us spending this amount.

We paid our bill, left our drinks and went. We NEVER leave drinks this is how insulted we felt by the rudeness and attitude of the female waiters.

We would never have sat down in the first place if we had been made aware of the minimum spend-this was the issue that they never informed us…my partner couldn’t have drunk $75 worth of beer as we had just eaten.

Shocking service, avoid at all costs!!!

Stumbled across this place wanting to watch the English FA Cup semi final between Man U and Coventry. Owner was a United fan which was a bonus. Went in to watch the game and left 6 hours later missing out Empire State Building booking lol. Don’t worry was able to rearrange for the next day. Classic New York style bar, loved the vibe, great staff and an absolute must if you’re a football (soccer) fan. Hope to be back at some point.

We had a brilliant time in this pub and visited it a few times whilst celebrating my birthday on New Years Eve. The first time we had a lovely meal I can definitely recommend the shepherds pie. The service was excellent and our waiter really polite.

We are huge Newcastle United fans and had heard about the facilities for watching football and the Newcastle United section on the ground floor so returned to watch the match. What a brilliant atmosphere. lots of screens and a lovely bunch of people. We met Dean and his friends Geordies who live in New York and they made us feel really welcome. The complimentary drink was a really nice touch. It's a lovely pub nicely furnished and very welcoming we will definitely visit again.

Home of the New York Blues, Chelsea Supporters Club. Had the privileged of watching Chelsea beat Crystal Place with some fellow Blues fans. Cheers

always intended to search out this bar to watch the Newcastle game and ended up spending most of the day! They segment off each part so they can screen several matches at once, when the other half had finished shopping for the day we met up here for food, my shepards pie was a bit dry(needed gravy) but my wife said her burger was delicious, so all in all a great bar to visit for sports and Newcastle Broon Ale!.

SUCH AN AWEFUL & DISCRIMINATION EXPERIENCE! The bartender was racist towards me and my friends visiting NYC, for speaking spanish. We payed 40$ for 3 drinks and the man got it from us and started yelling to GET THE F*CK OUT! I still can’t believe I had such disgusting experience in such a nice city. The bartender was tall, black longish hair, clear eyes. He yelled so much I was scared and we all left.

I went on Saturday 18th November at about 9.30am. I saw the tail end of the early Kick off game......Arsenal v Spurs match. The place has so many screens upstairs and downstairs. My team (Palace) were being shown downstairs. The downstairs was like a supporters shrine with the walls covered in Football Memorabilia and huge supporters flags. The bar staff were run off their feet and the fans were in a great mood. I stayed for a total of 3 matches and had something to eat before leaving for the Airport. I can recommend this bar if you want to see a game and watch your team.
