Jumped on the Q Train and rode it all the way to Coney (well Brighton Beach, then strolled to The pier). Stopped at Brighton to get some picture's of the apartment block used in Requiem for a dream, then we walked all the way to the parachute ride. I always wanted to see coney since I was a kid. It... It was our first time to NYC & there was someone in our group who had never seen the ocean. We were disappointed that this would be his first experience. If you are expecting the views the Caribbean or Hawaii beaches offer you will be disappointed. The Atlantic Ocean is beautiful, Coney Island beach is not. Lots of trash around... More

Coney island is a beach and amusement park that dates back from the 1880's and that shows. It feels like your walking in a twilight episode and anything can happen. Go there on a sunny day and feel it and rekax and eat a Nathan's original hotdog. I enjoyed myself. It's a 3$ metro ride (one way) from manhattan, a... More

WOW! I'M AT CONEY ISLAND. WOW THIS IS COOL. Then you realize you're at a ocean boardwalk with toursit trapish cafes and stores with sketchy rides. What do you do next? Take lots of pics, but an obligatory Nathan's hot dawg and an ice cream and brag on FB how cool it is to be at Coney Island :) Serious... More

We bought a metro pass and decided to take a trip down to see Coney Island. It was the wrong time of year to go as nearly everything was closed but it was interesting to see the retro fairground and we had a nice walk along the beachfront.

Coney Island is the home of the well known "jersey shore" people. From the gym, to the beach and finally the laundry. It has beautiful views but the 1h.15min travel from Manhattan makes this place not worthy... If you're in Brooklyn, then it's okay. Ice cream was awesome though. Too crowded.

We decided to see the place just to say we were there. It didn't really impress us. It looked like a carnival. I don't think I would ever return.
