Let's face it. Penn Station New York is bigger and better. The train schedules are easier to follow. The getting down to your track is easy. The schedule is pretty accurate. The cancellations are few right now. There are plenty of places to grab a...More

Penn Station is substantially more diverse and sanitary than Port Authority, and I fail to see how it has experienced a rise followed by a fall, as some critics would say. Train commuting is a decision of the commuter. This terminal isn't as nightmarish as...More

Our first time in NYC and we wanted to see an NFL game and heard the train is the best. It was actually very easy (we were unsure at first) you go to Penn Station and buy a round trip to meadowlands (MetLife) and back...More

Penn station was a major stop if you were adventurous enough to take the air train connection from Jamaica Station to catch the E line subway into midtown. Climbing out from the bowels of Madison Square Gardens was a good introduction to the midtown vibe.

I rated Penn Station as average because it is the hub and center transportations in NYC. It has no characters as a place or landmark but when you get here you know that you can reach many of the famous NYC landmark. I found station...More

I used this station four times during a recent New York City stay. My first experience was not a good one. I had taken a New Jersey Transit train from Newark Airport to the station. The arrival platform proved to be hot and steamy and...More

Amtrak, the Long Island Railroad, New Jersey Transit railroad and the NYC Subway system all converge here at Penn Station. Located under Madison Square Garden (which the original station was demolished to accommodate), dawdling is not recommended during rush hour, but you'll probably find yourself here...More

Penn was crowded with people waiting for trains at 10:30pm on a hot Wednesday night. During the summer, I was temporarily disabled. Getting off the train and going upstairs to the street level was a long wait for the elevator. I ended up climbing the...More

Everyone was very nice about giving us directions to restrooms, cabs, and our next stop. It was a busy Thursday night and we felt very safe at all times.

My wife and I take the D.C. to NYC Amtrak regularly when we want to get to New York. The train is comfortable and it arrives on time. Penn Station is in the heart of NYC, across the street from Madison Square Garden. Although it...More
