Manhattan can be quite hectic with all people, traffic and sounds all the time:West Village was the opposite. Peaceful, quiet and really nice area.

One of my favourite things to do is hang out in New York and have breakfast, read the paper, get a manicure, just relax and not rush. This is the perfect area.

Places to eat, nice old buildings, Christopher Street, the Stonewall Inn and Stonewall National Monument, Greenwich Village and Washington Square - a nice place to meander and enjoy.

We stayed one night at Walker Hotel in West 13th. Nice little bar and restaurant.

Newark Liberty International Airport Station Secaucus Junction Hoboken PATH 33rd via Hoboken Christopher Street Station should get you right there.
