We attended Christmas eve service at this beautiful small church. The congregation was very welcoming; the choir very young but inspired, and the rituals fascinating to watch.

I chose to attend a Sunday service at this lovely little church. It was beautiful inside and the congregation welcoming. The church yard is lovely and there was a sign stating opera concerts at the noon hour there....wish I had time. I would go here...More

I passed this church while on my way elsewhere and stopped to read the plaque. It's fascinating history of granting refuge to persecuted peoples and association with the theatre drew me in, and I'm so pleased I did. What a beautiful church! Gorgeous old wooden...More

Been meaning to visit this Church for awhile. My wife's grandparents were married in this Church in 1930. The Church itself is small and contains a small chapel and a slightly bigger main church. When we visited the main Church was closed but you could...More

What a great find! What a refuge in the middle of midtown. Quaint church with peaceful courtyard. Very interesting connections to Actors Guild and Edwin Booth, as well as underground railroad.

Although this is not the only church dedicated to the Transfiguration in New York (There is a Catholic church of the same name in China Town) it is I think one of the most attractive churches in New York. Known also as "the little church...More
