Want to have an authentic jazz club experience? GO TO THE OLDEST JAZZ CLUB IN NYC! When you walk in, you have to go down a flight of stairs into the secret, compact jazz club. There is a small stage with no flashy lights or decorations. Just amazing musicians and their instruments. I CANNOT stress enough how badly jazz fans need to go here. It's a life changing experience.

Went to hear Scott Colley. Very high quality Jazz in an 'old school' village venue. You have to come at least 1/2 hour before the show if not earlier as recommended to get good seats, but the room is small, so you hear well everywhere. No food, just good jazz and drinks, smallish but they are not skimping on the booze. An authentic setting and one of the highlights of our NY trip.

I am by no means a Jazz expert but this was excellent. Intimate and brilliant sound, this is the kind of venue you feel you should be listening to Jazz.We saw Kenny Barron, the drummer was the star of the show.

If you love jazz you have to come to this place at least once in your life. I come at least twice a year.
