Wow what an amazing 3 different nights My partner Andy and I had at Stonewall. besides being a icon of the LGBT movement it was just a down right friendly bar to go too. The bar staff are friendly as drinks cheap and strong and being Australian we also seem to have no problem pulling a crowd and being involved... More

The Stonewall Inn is an icon of the LGBT community. The bar is located in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan, New York. Currently, the bar has two levels, safe environment and a few photographs of the events that occurred there in the 1960s. Is a nice place to hangout and bar hoping.

If you like to step out of your element and have fun this is place to go. Met a lot of fun people and could be myself and have fun! Very welcoming atmosphere and service was busy but good! Beer is a little pricey but well worth the money!

This was just your regular dingy and cheesy gay bar. It's quite dark and over priced and doesn't really seem like the historic place you might expect.

The bar is very cosy and attracts a mixed crowd of all ages. The barmaid was very quick serving drinks which is always a plus when your thirsty. The decor and wooden interior and pleasant. Worth a visit for its history and for the buy one get one free offers on drinks.

The Stonewall Inn is an historic watering hole, iconic in the LGBT movement. All that aside, though, it is simply a great bar. Service is fast and friendly, and the drinks are reasonably priced. As others have mentioned, the A/C is deliciously cold, which was quite inviting during the 90+ degree heatwave in which we visited. If I lived in... More

The Stonewall Inn is a wonderful place to hang out and grab a beer. The rich legacy of the place made it a bucket list stop for me as well. The drinks are reasonably priced and I think they have the best A/C in NYC! It was 95 degrees outside but frosty cold in the Stonewall.

Stonewall. Now the beating heart of a National Monument. It could rest on its name and simply deliver drinks and drab and fade into atrial flutter. Instead it remains an innovative heart and soul of dynamic, joyous and artful LGBTI culture. There is a warmth within these walls that my words here will never adequately capture but it came from... Happy hour was til 8pm. We were a straight couple that went in, but love the history behind this historic bar. I ordered a beer for me and a seltzer water for my wife. The bill was $12. When I asked why, it was $5 for the water and $7 for the beer. The happy hour was buy one get... More

We stopped in while walking through Greenwich Village for refreshing beverages and to see what appears to be a neighborhood bar that has turned into an iconic marker. It was especially poignant in the aftermath of Orlando's Pulse event.

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
