We saw Dave Holland perform....great seats...right in front of the stage. The last time I saw Dave Holland was in 1983 Edinburgh when I was a student...so I was looking forward to this...really just the best..I was moments away from jumping out of my seat and screaming yyyyaahhooooo...I'm in Birdland New York City...best seat in the house in my opinion.... This iconic venue was well laid out, had good table service and food. The decor was great - pics of jazz musos on the walls, tiered seating - but it was too dark to actually get a good look at the photos, see your meal & even see the check/bill. The music was not to our taste even though we... More

Jazz in New York City is special and we look forward to it when visiting. This was a first-time experience for us at Birdland and listening to a 10-piece group recount moment in the music's history was a real treat. Birdland is definitely worth planning a repeat appearance. Great atmosphere in one of the city's historic venues, great service and... More

Really good night out with the wife. Tribute act to Sinatra and presented really well. Intimate, emotional and a touch of classy humour which brought the show to life. Show lasted 1hr20min which felt a little short and thought that the main Sinatra songs would be sung rather than including it in a melody of bits from other of his... More

We go every Christmas to enjoy Freddie Cole and have a good meal! Loved beet salad! Inside is very nice and clean! We have listened to only the best jazz at Birdland!

As a family we have never really been into jazz music- i would certainly recommend the open mike evening ( cast party) on a Monday night- the evening showcases lots of different genres of music-Jim is a fantastic compere and hits the right balance between entertaining the audience and making the show about the performers-we look forward to visiting again... Very cultural experience if you've never been to jazz club before you have to go. The owner makes his rounds and greets everyone. The intimate atmosphere is great. The servers are all smiley and bubbly and happy to have a job. We thoroughly enjoyed the Karrin show last week.

This was a wonderful addition to our New York experience! The club has a famous history of Some of The Best in Jazz playing here.. we were booked into an afternoon session that started at 5.30pm to see The Birdland Big Band, fantastic music, great table and we just enjoyed some nibbles and drinks and headed out for dinner after... Come see excellent singers about 15 in the night. we saw Lisa Lampanelli there and she about got my father in law to leave the room... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
