After several museums in a very short weekend, we were happy to end our trip to NYC at the MAD - an outstanding selection of artists, a very manageable grouping, and a knowledgable staff. We really enjoyed the Green Book exhibit. Highly recommend. (And don’t...More

A word of warning: two floors are currently closed and new exhibitions won’t begin until early in March. At present there is one good exhibition, “Sanctuary”, by Derrick Adams, but his show on the Green Book (written for African-American travellers from the 1930s into the...More

this is a relatively small museum, for your money, and you should be aware of what you are getting into before you waste your time: 1)there is no permanent collection - what is on display is only the Current Exhibits. So, take a look at...More

The exhibits are hard to understand but for the arts and design person it could be great. We enjoyed our lunch at the Roberts restaurant at the 9 th floor. The central park view is to die for. I really love this restaurant.

Highly interactive. Wonderful with children. It’s stuck smack in the middle of Columbus circle but easy to overlook. Take your student ID for reduced admission. Coat check and elevator available.

Went for the Sonic Arcade: Shaping Space with Sound exhibition in October 2017. Very high quality exhibition, well curated, lots of interactivity. Don't expect to be curled; MAD requires much of the visitor. If you're a modern art buff with a technical interest, MAD will...More

Everything revolved around sound and "art" but I could not appreciate, or observe art. I could only come to consider as "nice" if I thought of it from a tech perspective. And honestly, I was thinking about techology when I decided to visit. I am...More

A few very nice pieces, I was hooked by the psychedelic sound generator. But the rest was below what I expected, with no other context than "this is SJW artwork". I was expecting more. Two floors were close at the time of my visit though.

Only 2 floors of exhibits open out of 6 floors and a basement, due to a new installation not ready, but still charged 70% full admission. Exhibit about some avant garde combination of sound with art was underwhelming. I have been here twice before and...More

We went to this museum, paid our admission then found out 2 of the 4 floors were closed for whatever! Then found out the restaurant we had wanted to dine in was closed for a private function. No one at the desk told us this...More
