After visiting the train station, on the way out we went through the market, which consists of several shops selling baked goods, drinks, fresh fruits, nuts and so on.
We checked out a few stalls but prices were definitely higher than in other places, and we did not feel like buying anything.
This market is perfect for people who need to commute or who will have a long ride ahead and want to grab something to eat , otherwise I wouldn't bother having anything here as there are several other options around this area.

I was really excited to visit the new Grand Central Market, but it was a huge disappointment. Perhaps Covid has had a negative effect on it, but there is not much to choose from, no place to sit and eat, Buen Cuit was stale, the spice shop had no of the spices we saw on line and didn't seem sorry that we had trecked done there just for them. I don't recommend you stop here....unless you are desperate for a bottle of water.

I walk through Grand Central Terminal every day for work but I never noticed this place until I pretended to be a tourist and spent the weekend in NYC. Don’t come here expecting to do your grocery shopping. Like all the other reviews, this place is ridiculously expensive. They do have a great assortment of meats, cheeses, spices and produce. It was lovely walking through and looking at all that was offered but I would probably never buy anything from here. It took about 10 minutes to walk from front to back at a slow pace so don’t expect it to be huge. If I was ever in a crunch for dinner or date night and needed to pick something up before I got my train, I would consider purchasing something. There is a nice wine/beer shop around the corner so if you did decide to pick up dinner, you can grab a nice bottle of wine also.

We revisited Grand Central Terminal. . We were there in 2005 also. We love walking thru the place. We took a tour and loved CeeCee who helped with our tickets and (I think) Greg, our guide. Tour was full of history I did not know. We also wandered thru the market . Food has always been more expensive there but fruit with cherries at $14.00/lb was unreal. The berries were just as expensive. We were wandering around Chinatown and found berries for $1.99 a pound. And they were really good. We are from the PNW where they are grown and can't get them for that price! Aside from that we had a great time exploring. Highly recommend the tours.

The market is part of Grand Central Terminal. We were impressed with the selection of fresh produce, an array of spices, breads, cheeses, meats, fresh seafood, desserts, prepared foods, flowers, etc. It is a feast for your eyes, and the smells are enticing. You can get whatever you want here. Even though the prices are high, you have to remember you are paying for top notch quality. We were especially taken with the tree hanging upside down at the Lexington Street entrance to the market. It was a twinkling delight.

European-style food shopping here. Located between the Graybar Building and Subway Lines 4-6 on Lexington Ave, it is a great market to support local small businesses. Also helpful when you need a take out for your subway or train ride home.

Inside this market lies many small businesses. I enjoyed visiting "Spices and Tease" as they carry hard to find spices. I bought a special lamb tagine blend which was a great Moroccan spice mix. Add to a lamb or chicken tagine and you've elevated your meal. I was also happy to know they had "Hazlenut Sugar." Sprinkle on sugar cookies, fresh fruit or fold into a plain yogurt that adds a great flavor. Knowledgeable and friendly staff.

We wanted to spend little on our trip to NY, but also try everything and have some American experiences. Under the station there is a huge food court. Here we ate shrimp/crab rolls (NY specialty). Very good. Others ate Ukrainian specialties. In short, there is something for everyone. Place to sit around or stand.

The Grand Central Market is a foodie's dream come true! They truly carry everything that Whole Foods would sell and then some. The prices are not cheap but you get what you pay for. My favorite spots were the butcher and the baked goods. Unfortunately, we were on our way to a steak dinner and could not try anything.

Small, nice atmosphere, good selection of 'boutique/niche' shops. They are all food, at least that I saw. I wouldn't make the trip to Grand Central just to see this, but if you're going anyway its a nice place to browse.
