The MetLife building is cool to look at but there are many more interesting and attractive buildings in New York.

This is a well known building in MidTown right on top of Grand Central. It used to be called the Pan Am building and had a helicopter pad on its roof. I once had dinner at the private club on the top floor called the...More

Once the Pan Am Building, it is the best representative of the International style. A well proportioned, highly functional building without ornaments, it represents the best of office use skyscraper.

Much like the Eiffel Tower, the Metlife building was much maligned for its contrast with the gracious Helmsley building, when it started its life as the PanAm Building, headquarters of the now defunct airline. It was one of the first precast concrete skyscrapers in the...More

Not the tallest or the most beautiful of NY buildings, but it still manages to impress. If you look at the Grand central station from the front, you will see the Metlife building towering above the Grand lady. This building also houses and is named...More

This is, was and always be the skyscraper that Pan Am built. MetLife's name on it is a sad reminder of corporate America's lack of a sense of history or traditional. If you ever can get up to the penthouse bar, you will have one...More

This is only one of many MetLife buildings, but it is one of the 50 tallest buildings in the US. It was formerly the Pan Am Building, and it's not really a tourist attraction just a notable skyscraper by Grand Central.

Nothing too special about this one although its location near Grand Central and the Waldorf Astoria is pretty good. The building itself is really just another skyscraper without anything particularly special to distinguish it. Since it is an office building its primary purpose is not...More

Is there a way to go up the MetLife Building? Is there a visitor's pass? If I work for the MetLife, would that help me go up the building? Thanks!
