Absolutely loved it. They have the front section of a pump fire truck. They would have spent all day playing. It's very small and didn't get to see much more than the truck. I would like to go back in on my own to look at all the fire badges and I think they have a simulator of some kind.... More

This small and rather inconspicuous FDNY store / museum / educational facility would be hard to simply walk past as you stroll down W 51st Street by the side of the Rockefeller complex. But for anyone interested in the Fire Service it is certainly worth a visit. There is a chopped up FDNY fire truck that you can sit in,... More

We have been there this morning and the girls loved it. Is not a museum is a small exposition of many interesting things (with a fantastic shop), we asked for a guide-trip-experience and for 6$ each we had an amazing time in a special space in the back PDF the shop where you see examples of danger situations and how... We found this store by accident while touring in NYC, so didn't have any preconceived expectations as other reviewers did who were actually trying to find it. Agree that the space is small, (keeping in mind the cost of retail space in the city) with displays accounting for three quarters of it and the rest, a store selling the usual... More

There is a fireman there to talk through fire safety and explain the pump etc. A lot of FDNY stuff on sale Tshirts badges hats etc. Great for FDNY gear if that's what your after and... More

A helpful and fascinating guided visit which helps understand the important job of fire workers, enriched by videos and simulation of an escape from fire. Worth the money you pay and a small shop inside

An interesting visit where the duty fireman will talk you through fire safety and some interesting points on FDNY. Admire the many patches from different fire departments worldwide. Also a must is some souvenirs to get from the shop in recognition of the great service of the firemen!

I have always had a tremendous amount of respect of firefighters, for obvious reasons. I came here shortly after it opened for the day. I was able to try on a jacket and a helmet. I could sit in the fire truck. While I didn't partake, you could go to their simulation room to learn more about fire safety. Everyone... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
