Neighbourhood: Nolita
Despite being just off of busy Houston Street, Nolita maintains a low-key vibe that makes it a pleasant retreat in the heart of lower Manhattan. Short for “North of Little Italy,” Nolita was once considered to be part of Little Italy. Today, the neighbourhood is popular with young fashionistas popping in and out of the chic independent boutiques that line Mulberry, Mott and Elizabeth Streets. In addition to shopping, there are cozy restaurants and sidewalk cafes serving everything from new-school Italian food to the world-famous cronuts. While small in size (Nolita stretches just a few blocks in each direction), it’s a great neighbourhood to spend an afternoon people watching, window-shopping, and grabbing a bite to eat.

What a unique find in Soho! This special garden, rambles along from one block to another and has interesting sculpture, flower beds, lawn, and paths. Lots of tables and chairs to enjoy lunch in the garden and watch the passing parade. It's run by volunteers and is not your ordinary garden.

This is a magical garden, not a very turistic spot but more like a hidden gem, and is truly a gem! In the heart of Nolita, this garden was just what we needed to hide from the heat for a while, rest, listen to the birds, admire the flowers and trees and have some peace!! From what I understood during my visit, the Elizabeth Street Garden is in danger of being taking down by the city so the more visits it gets and the more people sees this beauty will save it! It´s totally worth it if you visit NY!!

Elizabeth is a street with lots of years and history where nowadays you can find the most unique and special stores, restaurants, coffee shops and so on. I loved Josefinas flagship store where I could find the most unique and special shoes ever. Also, next door I found Cuyana that sells such lovely clothes and besides this you can always find lots of cool places to eat, such as The Butcher's Daughters, Pietro Nolita and Black Seed.

This neighborhood, and this street in particular, are really unique. You will find Elizabeth Street Garden which is a very special garden in the middle of the city, and the most unique stores to shop. You can't miss Le Labo, Josefinas Portugal and Mateo New York! It's my favourite place to shop in town!

Elizabeth street garden is one of my fav spots in the city. It's full of flowers and beautiful sculptures. Perfect spot to read a book-:) the most amazing thing though is that it's kept and maintained by the neighborhood! Just to show you - NoLita is the best!
There are so many cool places: Little Cupcake Shop (their German chocolate cake is to die for ), Le Labo, McNelly book store, oh and of course Josefinas, the have the best shoes, love it!! If you are in town definitely check out the store. Have fun and explore!!!

This gem of a garden is one of our favorites in NYC. It is quite welcoming on a sunny day and has wonderful statuary, plantings, ample lawns for picnics, and quiet seating for reading or chatting with friends.

Visited on a sunny afternoon, this is a beautiful garden with plenty of seating areas and nice vibe, well worth a visit if in the area. The group is collecting money to ensure the garden is safeguarded against future development.
