The zoo is a good ay to fill a half a day if you include a good walk around the park itself. Not too pricey when we went due to the favourable exchange rate. Although the zoo is small its exhibits are full. Favourite animals were the Sea Lions, spent a good 30/45 minutes just watching them alone!!

At $12 for a very small zoo, yes it is expensive.... but isnt everything in NYC? It enhanced a fantastic day in Central Park, a bright sunny day with snow on the ground. An hour to 90mins would probably long enough to spend here, which aint such a bad thing when you have so much to see elsewhere! Bears, Snow... More

They have a wide variety of animals. The seals stole the show. Very clean. It is a small zoo but very enjoyable & affordable.

This zoo is fairly small, you can easily see it in 2 hours. There are some good displays of Asian cool-region animals such as red pandas, snow leopards and snow monkeys. The tropical exhibit is interesting and a welcome relief from the cold during winter. We went on an overcast day in January and it was definitely not crowded, there... More

We were walking Central Park and decided to check out the zoo. It is really small. I think little kids would enjoy it but with the tons of things to do in New York, I would leave this at the very end of the places to visit.

While Central Park Zoo is small and we had no real expectations the zoo was surprisingly a fun morning visit and lots of fun enclosures and opportunities to get up close to the animals, thanks to all the staff at the Central Park Zoo, friendly and made our visit a lot of fun, thanks:O)

We were walking through Central Park on our last day and walked past the zoo. We decided to go round and explore, for '$12 each for a general admission ticket, I was quite happy with that! It was a mid week January day, so was relatively quiet around the park, no queue at all to buy tickets and enter. We... More

If you are expecting a nice zoo with lots of animals to see, the Central Park Zoo is not the place BUT, having said that, it is still a nice place to go with your small kids. They have bears, sea lions, penguins, etc... My son (2 years old) loved this place. He had so much fun watching the sea... More

Have visited Central Park on several occasions but have never been into the zoo. Having a couple of hours to spare and the zoo (only) not costing too much we decided to visit. We were all well impressed, couldn't believe how much is packed into this small zoo and yet it seems so spacious. Could have spent the whole afternoon... More

Spent a glorious sunny morning here on Christmas Day! Loved the sea lions (show/feeding), tropical house (birds, snakes etc) and the Red Pandas were a bonus as we thought they were still off exhibit! Could have watched them for hours! Didn't catch sight of the Snow Leopards, and the crush to see the bears from the small window they were... More
