Nothing is quite like the Manhattan skyline, no matter where you view it from. Taking pics/selfies was difficult at times 'coz everyone is doing that same thing, usually from the same location you are trying. I regret not bringing home the touristy panoramic pictures of the skyline I saw everywhere - about 10 of them in our lounge would have... More

The famous Manhattan skyline, which has been displayed in numerous films, photos, artwork etc, draws attention and ignites excitement. It can be seen from various points outside of Manhattan, each of which offers a unique perspective. I recently drove on the LIE and over the 59th Street Bridge and marveled at the city's beauty despite having seen it hundreds of... More

The view of this city is always moving an magical. In every season, it never fails to impress. If one is lucky, one can see the view from several places.

Many New Yorkers, I included, feel that the over-sized new buildings on 57th Street (so called Billionaire's Row) have destroyed the skyline. It's true that they are crassly showy, but they can't hide the elegance of the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building and the new Freedom Tower. As you cross the bridge from JFK or LaGuardia, just hide your... More

Two of the best views of Manhattan are from the tram to Roosevelt Island and from the island itself. Around twilight on a clear day, you can take a stroll around the island and be back at the tram entrance when the city lights go on and the skyline is at its most magical. A picnic is a good idea... Best to experience in the evening or at night time. All the blinking lights are breathtaking. Absolutly worth the trip.

One of the best ways to see the Manhattan skyline is from a boat. From the WTC is also great. Nymediaboats is a great boat option.

The Manhattan Skyline is amazing. From the top of the Empire State building the skyline below looks a bit like it has been built in Lego!

The Manhattan skyline at night was the main reason I attended the rooftop cinema at the Yotel. Everything about the experience was sensational! The Manhattan skyline at night from an elevated location was marvelous! I also recommend the cinema. You get to sit on Beach chairs with champagne and popcorn!

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
