We got a groupon for the ice cage, which was smaller than I expected and not as cold. We were given ice shot glasses that start melting immediately, so get drinking quickly! Not a bad vodka selection in the "cage", with flavored vodkas to allow for a brief respite between the better stuff. It was fun, but I'm glad we... More

We went here for the club not for food. What's a Bulgarian bar? No idea - but there was definitely an eastern european vibe to the place with a focus on vodka and the accent of the guy running the place - but not relevant - it was just a lot of fun. This is a lower east side dance... More

This place has a vibe all of its own. Have been going for over 9 years back when I lived in the States. I now find myself living in Bulgaria and when I go back to New York I go here to feel at home in Bulgaria... It's my home away from home, in my home city... If that makes... More

Each club offers its own flavor and I've given a high rating but within the category of experience that you are seeking. Mehanata doesn't offer a fancy venue. The place is small, the ice bar downstairs is a 4x4 foot plexiglass cell and the bar doesn't offer a fancy selection of liquor or wine. What it does offer is an... More

If your looking for an Ice Bar...don't come here NOT WORTH IT !!! The ice bar is the size of a shoebox, they over charge you...it just wasn't a good experience.

Thankfully I read a lot of reviews on the ice cage so I didn't have false expectations. Went for a Groupon and thank goodness because it's definitely not worth full price. Negative reviews are somewhat accurate but exaggerated. "Ice Cage" itself is very small more like a booth than a room not actually a freezer more like slightly cooler than... More

This was a random place we stopped in on...arrived early, but it didn't matter. The special of the day was vodka apple cider...and I drank quite a bit of that addicting stuff before eventually heading out. Didn't get to try the vodka ice cage---but the unique atmosphere of instrumental music, friendly staff, and lots of vodka made for a great... More

I can`t even begin to say how many things are wrong about this place. The reason i write this review though, is that I think everyone has the right to know that the so famous Ice Cage is a big fat lie - all the vodka bottles except the flavored ones are actually being refilled with house vodka every night.... Staying in Lower East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighbourhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.
