If you want to get an overall aerial view of the Saturday Farmers Market at Union Sq., and score a visit to the restroom at the same time, checkout the top floor of DSW across the street. Take the elevator, not the escalator to save time. Once there, you'll get a bird's eye view of the Market and score a... More

so many great items to buy from local grown beets to ostrich meat. We loved everything they had to offer, I had not been to this market in many years, it has grown and has so much to offer

I'll say this about it. If you are in New York and you're close by, definitely visit the Union Square Green market. But if you have to take a long ride with public transport or you have something else planned. Don't take extra time out of your schedule to go there. It's nice, it's fun to see, no more, no... More

This is a really nice change of pace and tastes in the city. There are all kinds of things to look at and try, but most of all are the people, of course, and you could amuse yourself just seeing all the different ways people try to assess the freshness of produce. Prices are okay, but depending on the time... More

When we visited in December many of the produce stalls were filled with jewelry, clothing, art, you name it. So many interesting and unusual gift items in one place. We enjoyed walking around sipping hot cider while shopping. The people watching was top notch.

There is a holiday market at Union Square which is just great. All kinds of mini-stalls from coffee to donuts; scarves to carvings; jewelry to unique designer clothing. In other words everything to satisfy your holiday shopping requirements. The various offerings are very reasonable and one of a kind. The vendors are very personable and there are so many samplings.Part... More

We visited on Wednesday this week, then again on Friday. Second time half of the produce stalls had been taken over by the Xmas market, so I don't know if more of the produce stalls are back on other days, or if they're reduced until Xmas. We bought craft gin, local honey from bees kept on New York city rooftops,... More

We had a fantastic time sauntering through the markets chatting to stall holders and sampling the local produce. This is not only a great place to get your greens and wine, it is also a mine of information about New York and it's surrounds. The quality of the produce is great and the wines were delicious and needless to say... More

I woke up after my first night sleeping in New York. It was saturdaymorning. A quick shower and getting dressed didn't take too long. I had to go out of the hotel and walk? So that is what I did. I walked. Crossed streets. And just by accident I got on Union Square. There was a market and I love... More

Since 1976 local farmers, fishers and bakers have been selling their bounty to the city folk here at 17th St & Broadway. There's an abundance to choose from each season: varieties of "just-picked" fresh fruits and vegetables, to cheeses, baked goods, honey and jams, pickles, cut flowers and plants, ciders, maple syrup and much, much more. Union Square is certainly one... Staying in Flatiron District

Neighbourhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets- much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighbourhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being the home of a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
