This is by far the best of New York, the architecture section was brilliant, the prices are mind blowing. Loved the fact that the store had a very strong stance with regards to all political and social issues. Washroom is available and if they had only provided wifi and seating, I would have never left that place; come to think... More

I have been wanted to visit this bookstore for years and finally got the opportunity to do so. I love nothing more than a good book and can devour books from almost any genre. To say that Strand is a book lovers paradise is an understatement. I could spend days here. I plan on being back whenever I'm in the... More

Very very nice bookstore. The store really offers something for everyone. Too bad we're all in a hurry nowadays, strolling the aisles in this bookstore is so great!

If you like books, you're probably familiar with Strand, either by name or by experience. The store is huge - four floors, absolutely packed with every kind of book you can imagine supplemented with other assorted book related merch. No matter what genre, style, rarity, or age book you're looking for, you can probably find it here. For the most... More

A must stop whenever I'm in NYC. If you love reading, are passionate about a particular subject or just love to browse in libraries and bookshops then you have to go to The Strand. An extraordinary shopping experience, here's my few tips which you may find helpful. * Saturdays are cramped & crowded with people. Find an off peak time... More

In all the great cities of the world there are great bookstores. In Rome - Feltrinelli, in Stockholm -Hedengrens, in Paris - Boulevard Saint-Germain. And here in New York is Strand. The search for the desired books should start here and if not found it is necessary to go further. Choice of English literature is enormous. Literature in other languages... More

There was an article posted on a website a few months ago showing the questions that employees are given during interview for this place. During my trip to NYC, I knew I had to visit. Very large collection of different interests. Have to ignore the left wing stuff if you are on the other side, but other than that a... More

Great to make a stopover and pick your next reading. Kids amazed with their own corner. From books to t-shirts, whatever you want.
