This is our second tour with this company and we have been blessed each time to have Candy as our guide. We ate so much yummy food and got so much more information about the area and other places to try. This tour has a variety of all types of foods that make New York great for foodies. We will... This tour paled in comparison to other food tours I've taken elsewhere in the country. I did the dessert tour, and things started off not so great when our tour guide SHOWED UP LATE! So we started our tour with sweat pouring down her face, and she wasn't wearing anything that would identify her as being apart of Food Tours... More

Management response:

First of all, thank you for your feedback. We apologize that our guide was late for a few minutes. She should have an official tour guide license ID on her. Our dessert tour usually runs from 2.5 to 3 hours long. You might have the impression that it was a 2.5 hrs long tour. The guide should have specified the... More

Today we took the Ultimate New york food and Culture tour. Tour was fantastic and very informative with so many food tastings we could not even finish all the food. I would suggest not eating lunch before the tour. It was also fantastic as we were all vegetarian and our guide was easily able to accommodate this request. If you... More

My girlfriends & I have taken 2 of these food tours - one of Greenwich Village & one of SOHO/Central Village. Both were led by very interesting, friendly & knowledgeable guides. We've wandered around aimlessly for years in Manhattan & while that's fun, it was time to "learn something"! We found out, for example, where Bob Dylan lived, Aretha Franklin... More

We really enjoyed our CENTRAL VILLAGE/SOHO FOOD AND CULTURE TOUR. The tour guide was great and the food choices were fun. The tour had just the right amount of history, food, fun, and walking. I plan on trying a different food tour each time I come to New York.

I actually took a food tour of my own neighborhood and learned so much that I did not know and so many places where I will definitely return. This is a must. I plan to take some tours of other neighborhoods from the company. Great tour guide and excellent tour! Greenwich Village Food Tasting and Cultural Tour, provided by Food... More

We did the vegetarian china town food tour and loved it! My boyfriend is not a vegetarian but he still loved the food. Our guide was very informative about both the food and the area and had no problem answering all of our questions. Bring your appetite cause you're going to eat so much delicious food! It was the best... More

My family and I took the chocolate tour and had a wonderful time. Great overview of the area, nice tour guide, lots of chocolate. It was easy to walk, despite the cold weather, and most importantly -- the kids had fun. My girls were 8 and 11 and loved it. Thanks!

Every year I visit NYC with the same girlfriend the weekend after Thanksgiving and we almost always do a food tour. We have used several different companies and they have all been fun, but Candy did a great job with this tour. We got to sample some fantastic foods and learned a lot from Candy. She was very knowledgeable and... More

My boyfriend and I did the Taste of Chinatown tour with another couple. It was a groupon that we had bought several months earlier. We had so much fun and learned a lot of new places. Not only great restaurants to eat in Chinatown (where the locals go), but also where to shop if you are looking to be some... More

Staying in East Village

Neighbourhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
