I decided to try Acela first class on my nyc to Boston trip and went to the Penn lounge. In a word: Awful. Extremely rude and disinterested front staff; dark, dirty and dingy interior, and no food beyond goldfish type snacks. Then the actual first...More

Did you ever wonder where all the stuff from the IRS administration goes after it's reached its useful life's end? Well look no further.... the NYP "First Class" lounge. Staffed by disinterested, disgruntled Amtrak employees just waiting out their pension qualification periods, you'll have access...More

They really have the heat cranked up in this lounge. It's a bit uncomfortable. There's not much selection in the way of food, either. Amtrak needs to step it up to match the airlines.

Chaotic, dark, any food and drinks were depleted. Front desk staff stressed and rude. Honestly, the public Amtrak lounge outside is far more pleasant.

OK , it may not be the Ritz, but it is comfortable, and if you have time to spare before your train, you can relax and enjoy the WiFi. Excellent information boards keep you up to date.

Having read the reviews here I knew the Acela Lounge was not going to be a first class environment. But really, the price I paid for the r/t Acela First Class ticket was FOUR TIMES the cost of an airline ticket. I only chose Acela...More

This place is a good respite from the busy-ness of Penn Station. Some reviewers say it is hard to fund, but when I got off the escalator I looked straight at the Club Acela sign, it was perfect. Snacks are limited here but you can...More

This place needs a major upgrade and expansion as well as more consistent service but the benefit of a respite from the noise and crowds of Penn Station still has some value. At the very least they can get new furniture.

You will have to purchase a pass to be allowed in the Acela Express Lounge. Since it's only allowed for Acela Express First Class Passengers.
