We've done the Adirondack sail a couple times so decided to try the Shearwater for a change this weekend. Location is a bit further south, near the World Trade Center, and they are a bit less well organized than the other provider. Ship was beautiful,...More

What a LOVELY TRIP!! Outstanding crew and amazing views of Lower Manhattan, New York Harbor and the Statue of Liberty. One really gets a different perspective of New York City from this classic sail boat. Highest recommendations for visitors and locals alike!!

The employee in charge of checking you in did not do a great job. There were numerous people on line to be checked in and, from another direction people went up to her avoiding the line altogether. Once on board though, the crew was excellent...More

Went on the wine and cheese tasting cruise. Started out perfectly. Blue skies. Warm and comfortable on a really beautiful craft. By the time we'd reached Liberty in came a ridiculous storm. Lasted a few minutes but sent everyone scattering below decks. About 5 minutes...More

Don't waste your precious time trying to make reservations-- no one ever responds. Don't rush to arrive 30 minutes before scheduled sail time-- they do not set up to check in passengers until 20 minutes before scheduled sail. Organization seems to be very unprofessional in...More

Wow what a great experience. Sailing down the Hudson River on a beautiful sail ship. Wind in our hair and the spray in our faces. Plus a really close up view. Lovely crew couldn't do enough. Highly recommended.

On a particularly hot (unseasonably) afternoon in NYC, it occurred to us to take a boat ride. We headed down to the Battery area (North Cove Marina) -- thinking we could always take the Staten Island Ferry if we couldn't get on a boat. Do...More

We went on the second sailing of the season so we knew the weather may not be ideal. It was windy - too windy to sail as a matter of fact. Because of the choppy water we couldn't really stand up and move around so...More

After the hectic pace of sightseeing in New York this was a perfect chilled activity. Lucky to have a warm afternoon but a bit much wind to sail the whole time and drink wine too. The boat under engine was fine as well. The wine...More

Financial District
At the southernmost tip of Manhattan, the Financial
District is where New York City began as a center of
commerce. Today, the historic streets and beautiful
setting are complemented by museums, countless
skyscrapers, and the heart of the Financial District,
home to Wall Street and the New York Stock Exchange.
Catch the Staten Island Ferry for an unbeatable view
of the skyline and Statue of Liberty, or sail to Ellis
