If you want a free ride in the harbor that passes the Statue of Liberty and great shots of the New York skyline than this is the Staten Island Ferry. You get on and enjoy a view that is awesome both coming and going. It was hazy going over but coming back blue skies and sun made it really highlight... More

We visited NYC during January. The weather was pretty cold so we decided to take the Staten Island Ferry just to see the views of Manhatten Island and The Statue of Liberty from a warm, free ride instead of going through the airport like security lines to go on a cold ferry ride to walk around a cold island. The... More

After patiently ignoring all the hawkers trying to get us to pay for a water tour, we were rewarded with a great round trip for free! This is a no-cost way to see great views of NYC skyline and the Statue of Liberty. We went at mid day during the week - not crowded at all. Great experience, highly recommended.

Used this free service to view the statue of liberty. Great choice as it gave us a great view, it wasn't packed, and had fantastic views of Manhattan heading back and forth. Well worth doing this rather than forking out for an official tourist boat.

Firstly, the Staten Island Ferry is FREE. Cannot get better than that. The ferry terminal on the Lower Manhattan side was very functional and clean. We boarded and sat on the right outside area where we saw great views of the Statue of Liberty and Lower Manhattan. When we reached Staten Island we quickly got off and took the next... More

Love the Staten Island Ferry because it's free and you get spectacular views of the Manhatten skyline as well as the Statue of Liberty.

We checked for tickets for Statue of Liberty, which were already booked for the next three months, so thought of giving this a try and we loved every moment spent on this ferry, which give excellent views of the city of Manhattan as well as NJ on the other side. Once you reach Staten Island, there are good number of... More

Queue was super long as it was after New Year and during holiday period but the ferry will arrive every 30mins and can accommodate more than 200pax at once. About an hour ride across and they will ask to dropoff and change to another ferry back. If you are on a budget take this to look at the Statue from... More
