The park includes, on one end, Hope Garden - a memorial to AIDS victims - and on another, the ferry that'll take you to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, not to mention a number of other memorials and monuments scattered in between.

We visited Battery Park in late July and I was very impressed with many of the monuments there. One in particular was dedicated to all of the servicemen who lost there lives in the coastal waters of the United States during WWII. All of their...More

If your in the Wall Street area then it's easy to get away from the hustle and bustle by taking a walk around Battery Park. A pleasant open space with plenty of trees to grab a bit of shade from the sun.

A nice park located where you et the ferries for Straten Island. I wouldn't travel out of your way if just to visit the park

We came here to ride the Sea Glass Carousel. It was really worth the $5 as a unique kind of carousel. It makes you feel as if you're actually floating in water as you sit in a fish. It was nice just to walk around...More

I like Battery park as it offers a relatively relaxing atmosphere in the craziness of Manhattan. Plenty of place to sit down, relax, and enjoy the views.

Financial District
At the southernmost tip of Manhattan, the Financial
District is where New York City began as a center of
commerce. Today, the historic streets and beautiful
setting are complemented by museums, countless
skyscrapers, and the heart of the Financial District,
home to Wall Street and the New York Stock Exchange.
Catch the Staten Island Ferry for an unbeatable view
of the skyline and Statue of Liberty, or sail to Ellis
